Jurgen Klopp is the leading candidate to be named as Liverpool’s new manager.

The ECHO understands that the Reds will make an approach to the former Borussia Dortmund boss over the coming days as they seek a successor to Brendan Rodgers,

Carlo Ancelotti, Frank de Boer and Garry Monk will also come under consideration but Klopp is viewed as the ideal replacement by Anfield’s hierarchy.

The 48-year-old German has been out of management since he stepped down at Dortmund back in May. He announced that he was taking a sabbatical but has made it known in recent weeks that he’s ready to return and would relish working in the Premier League.

Klopp boasts an impressive CV haven’t won two Bundesliga titles and taken Dortmund to the 2013 Champions League final. The ECHO understands that he’s eager to hold talks with the Reds.

      Oh good lord Gary Monk.

      It's happening though isn't it!

No idea if Klopp is gonna bring us success but wish him all the best. Hope it's not another ****ing 3 year plan.
        Are we winning?

This is a no brainer. Klopp is young hungry and is just starting out in his managerial career. He has it all to achieve but we know he is capable of getting his team to play great football. He is an experienced but young coach.

Why go for someone like Ancellotti who probably doesn't have the hunger in him at his age. And I get the feeling he would prefer to stay somewhere bigger like London

De Boer is completely unproven and I don't see many other options.

          It has to be Klopp

One of the best things is that our style of play will completely change from this slow cautious **** to a much faster adventurous style. Much more pace in attack.

It doesn't take much to conclude that we've already got klopp but the club are slowly feeding the story to the media out of respect to the previous manager

I don't know if there'd be legal implications either if we just appointed his replacement straight away.

Nothing wrong with a plan, so long as it's a good one.

So was Benteke really a Klopp-approved signing? I'm still not really convinced that Benteke was the right player for us.

Does feel that way. That random article from Bosnia or wherever it was last night about his assistant going with him to Liverpool may have been true! Bundesliga seems one of the more fairly priced transfer leagues around, would be great if we can exploit this.

This is so ****ing exciting. Exactly the shot in the arm the club needs.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Bosnian and Turkish news sources finding out before English ones. Funny.

As for Klopp, right now I'll take any two of his previous Dortmund players. Hummels, Reus, Gundogan, heck even Kagawa. Hopefully Klopp admires technical football over the hoof it to the big lad variety Rodgers fell into.

Hopefully this part is not true

FSG decided a new manager will not demand new ‘tools to do the job’ but will use those Rodgers had at his disposal far better. (Bascombe)

The rest of the transfer committee will be untouched. Any new manager must work within the existing framework. #lfc (Chris Bascombe)

Not a prayer of them even considering Gary Monk, Brenden Rodgers protege.
