A lot of people think they should have sacked him in the summer. I didn't. I thought he showed enough from the 13/14 season to earn another crack at the whip. The yo-yo effect has been seen before. Could he bounce back? Alas this time, there was a bottoming out. No improvement, but no further decline either. But that is not good enough. A change is needed. Another fresh start.
    Agree 100% with that

After our transfer business this close season I thought we'd be much improved this season. That fact that we've continued playing just as **** as most of last season surprised me. It probably surprised FSG as well. The timing to bin Rodgers is just about right imo

I guess there was Twitter ITK talk which suggested it too, but the spin was towards FDB taking over last week, with Klopp looking like a relative outsider.

That said, I think FSG are handling things really well. Again. Whenever they have to step up to the challenge, they invariably do IMO.

I wonder if FSG have deliberately peddled the Klopp a non-runner story in the hope of distracting people from their true intentions

Media seems to have suggested it was a change of heart and that the dissenting voices within the committee have been overruled, maybe thats the case but plenty of the reports have suggested that FSG wanted Klopp last time round but were knocked back

I'd imagine he wouldnt be far from the top of the list this time round yet the reports suggested he would be overlooked

Either situation could be true for all we know. I don't think we're in a position to declare his possible sacking as mad.

I'm fairly sure that if you appoint someone to a role that someone else is doing while they are still there they can sue for constructive dismissal, I assume that no special case has been made for football. Although the are slight differences - such as Rodgers will get a fairly significant payoff which wouldn't apply to most other people, so in reality I assume it is unlikely to happen in football. Presumably the club want to stay on the right side of the law and not damage their reputation by doing something underhand. But there is no way that they would have sacked Rodgers unless they were confident they had an agreement with someone to come in soon.

For me one of the telling things is that they haven't said Gary Mac or O'Drisscoll will take charge of team affairs until a new man is appointed, our next game is in 12 days there is no way that they would be expecting someone to take charge for that game if they hadn't started looking yet.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Constructive dismissal only applies where someone feels that they have had no alternative but to resign.

This is just a straight forward, open and shut dismissal. It wasn't even mutual consent.
              Oh I don't know.

Constructive dismissal cases are also far harder to prove than most people realise. As a minimum starting point BR would have to have put in a written grievance which I somehow doubt.

I suspect there are reams of clauses in any football managers contract, and am sure all eventualities will be covered in any substantial financial settlement Brendan will no doubt receive.

I doubt he has been on the phone to ACAS just yet.

I think Sturridge upfront, with Firmino/Coutinho as Gotze, Milner as Blase and Coutinho/Lallana as Grosskreuts could work very well. Clyne and Moreno will fit fine and Lucas and Can at the base until Henderson comes back.

I can't wait for Spurs. Or any news basically.
                      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

                        Your source is incorrect.

... it was Hodgson on job share.

Frankly I dont think Milner can play that role

Blas... has a lot of pace and the only player of that ilk we have (or even vaguely similar) is Ibe

There are some murmurs on Twitter that Bayern are looking to hijack the deal, but nothing from anyone substantial as far as I can see.
