Ancelotti is a cheque book manager - he just works for the richest clubs - even Parma were big spenders at the time then Milan at their peak, Chelsea, Juve, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid. Talented but not a squad builder or hands on coach.

Whilst he still had some decent players at Milan the big spending days were over by the time he took charge. It certainly wasn't like Capello's tenure when they bought the likes of Gullit and Van Basten. In fact according to Wiki they were in the UEFA cup in his first season there so I think the inference he can only manage Mourinho style is a bit harsh.

Benitez and Klopp probably have a similar record before managing Liverpool, couple of titles beating the big guns and both done well in Europe.

I was every excited when Rafa came, Equally so about Klopp.

Sort of thing some of our players need

"Klopp has this reputation in Germany as happy and easy to get along with, but he's also a very hard worker on the pitch and if the players do not please him or do not do exactly what he wants them to do then he can get stuck into them which is exactly what players need."

I'm going to make a Jurgen Klopp/Van Halen Jump video for the unveiling.

I'd still prefer ancelotti. Klopp seems like a bit of a loose cannon and I think Carlos would be a calming influence which I think is what we need. Still if klopp could beat a few of our players up I'd be for it

I think Klopp is what we need long term whereas Ancelloti would probably only hang around for a few years & we'd be back looking for a new manager again. No thanks I'd rather a long term manager at present.

My head says Carlo, but my heart wants Klopp. But it doesn't matter, either would be great. Looks like it's going to be Klopp though, so fun times ahead.

I didn't even know who he was! Same for Houllier, no social media/forums back then. Can't remember how I felt about Evans. Obviously Hodgson was a ****ing sick joke and I didn't know what to make of the Rodgers appointment so this is the first time we've appointed a manager I've genuinely been giddy about.
