Surely with the managerial situation so volatile in the summer when we hired McAllister and O'Driscoll it would have been on short term contracts or with break clauses built in if Brendan had to go. Surely these astute business men would have thought of that.

Absolutely the right decision but I feel a bit bad for both. Gary Mac cos he's a Red, and O'Driscoll cos he waited all his life for a chance like this, quit his role with England to come here and he's been ****ed off in a matter of months

I'm pretty sure there are. They're probably hired with a view that Brendan's tenure (as well as theirs) will be reevaluated by Christmas the very latest.
