That's where we've missed out, the powers that be havent really had the balls to do it.

As for how they turn out, obviously nothing's guaranteed, but it doesnt take a genius to work out that, generally speaking, a £20m player is gonna be pretty good, compared to a £7m one.

Actually, you seem to be advocating this McGeady lad, so dont answer that.

And what's with the smiley, dont you like me?
Right lets have a look at what you suggest:

      5 players:

2 at £10m, (right lets call them Alonso and Kuyt)

      3 at roughly £20m.

now tell me exactly how you would have built any kind of a squad with 3 more players, the idea is laughable.

Some of our poorest players bought by Rafa - Zenden, Aurelio, Josemi, Nunez, Pelle, Kromkamp, Fowler(maybe), Gonzalez (so far) - whats the alarming comparrison there? yes they were all under 2mil or free and these are the players you have to settle on when trying to fill a squad when you have no cash, so spending £20mil on 3 players would be absolutely ridiculous.

            Taken from Celtic official website:

"The Irish internationalist announced his arrival on the first-team scene with a spectacular debut goal and man-of-the-match winning performance at Tynecastle against Hearts. Since that date McGeady has made steady progress and has shown that he is capable, with his many tricks and flicks, of winning games at Champions League and domestic level."

I was thinking that he was hoping I would say Ireland so he could then start waffling on about me thinking San Marino were a top class outfit. I knew exactly what he was up to!!

But on that note, didnt he play in Germany and give a decent account of himself?

Sevilla are in fine form, won the UEFA Cup last season and are mounting a serious title challenge with a tremendous squad.

                  We're 10th in the table.
Your opinion of Liverpool FC discusts me at times. Its not a dig by the way.
We're one of the biggest clubs in Europe and are regarded very highly in Spain so why wouldn't he come

                          *ahem*

"he has already proven he can perform at the top level"

I never said HE IS proven fullstop.

                          There is a difference.

                          I'll make it easier:

                          He played UTD.

                          UTD are top level opposition.

                          He played well.

Therefore my statement makes perfect sense.

Whether he can continue to prove himself is another story and has nothing to do with my point. I think he will though, i might add.

                              Scottish Football != top level.
