I love that Klopp is effectively saying that we're nowhere near or best, but won here by using an effective game plan. Those pictures show how much happier the team is, what a difference a few weeks can make.

You've just described every single one of Lucas' fouls. Anyway, needless to say I don't agree, I think he bottled that rather than send him off.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostIf a yellow was given for every foul there'd be about three players left on the pitch every game. Lucas made a foul and he gave the referee a decision to make, but it's garbage to say the ref bottled it.
Most games I see, if someone is on a yellow they are given extra protection. It's not bottling it, it's trying to keep 22 players in the pitch. It wasn't malicious or intentional, it was mistimed.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Rodgers was unable to implement a tactical plan that made us solid with 4 at the back. Rodgers was unfortunately out of his depth at this club. I still think he can be a great manager one day though, as he has a lot of positives going for him. The attacking brilliance he created in 13/14 was inspired, but that was never going to last.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostKlopp reverting us to a simple 4 at the back with our best 4 players there on the pitch really has shown up Bendan's insane 3/5 at the back formation. We look just as stable there if not more so despite Clyne and Moreno remaining very advanced on the pitch, Can gets to play in his natural formation and we don't get outnumbered in midfield any more. Really was a bizarre tactical choice.
Henderson's return should kick us up an extra gear in midfield, that and consistently having at least one decent striker fit (hopefully) and we're showing some real promise now despite having a few squad deficiencies.Forwards.......

No I haven't, as Lucas does plenty of intentional fouls. That wasn't one of them. My point on that was had it been malicious, or intentional, or stopping a bit of great attacking play, he would have been off. Fact of the matter is it happened nowhere near the goal and was a slow & clumsy challenge and rtherefore not a deserved booking.Originally posted by Venton View PostYou've just described every single one of Lucas' fouls. Had he not got a booking previously he would've deservedly gone in the book as a result of the totting up procedure. That was his first foul since that booking, not a further yellow in the circumstances.Forwards.......

Agreed, but I didn't think he was able to implement a tactical plan that made us solid with 3/5 at the back either, which given the negative impact elsewhere on the pitch made it so utterly maddeningly pointless.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostRodgers was unable to implement a tactical plan that made us solid with 4 at the back. I think that says everything about this game that I'd want too really.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostWe had a gameplan today, and the players stuck at it, kept concentration, and didn't let their heads drop. That was the big thing for me, as well as scoring more than one goal!
Thrilled we got the win. Absolutely chuffed to bits.

I think the 3 worked to a certain extent. We didn't look all over the place. His issue really was the players he used in it as opposed to that system. His main problem is he had the players for a 4 and couldn't make it work, and when that's the case you have issues as a manager.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostAgreed, but I didn't think he was able to implement a tactical plan that made us solid with 3/5 at the back either, which given the negative impact elsewhere on the pitch made it so utterly maddeningly pointless.Forwards.......

He could (arguably should) have been booked earlier with this first booking. He really struggled with the pace of the game early on but them scoring slowed them down which helped Lucas get his **** together.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostNo I haven't, as Lucas does plenty of intentional fouls. haha just seen the LFC tv nod to the latest Bond movie, asks 3 players what they have in common with Bond, starts with....er....Joe Allen, who says something like...Bond loves gadgets is great with women..etc etc...so no, nothing in common.
Sturridge mumbles something about LFC being too important to quit to become Bond.
Then Milner pops up with.....I'm called James.

It was immensely satisfying. Great character from the team to not let their heads go down after Chelsea scored. That was the most satisfying aspect for me today. Oh, and we really need to give Sakho that armband!
