Milner looked good from high up in the ground, his pressing and running is really clever, he seems to know when to go and when to save his energy (unlike Lallana). Benteke stood about like a big pole on the D, barely moving - very unimpressed with him. Firmino was dreadful, under hitting passes, making bad decisions and looking lost without Coutinho. That's two non descript performances on the bounce, though I'm sure he'll pick up again when his buddy is back.

Sturridge is so, so on a different ability level to Benteke - so good to see him and Henderson back.

I don't understand why we player more high balls up to sturridge than we did with Benteke. It was a solid performance overall i thought. Can really impressed me, Firmino was way way off the boil. I am made up Henderson in back, we need his quick control and ability to speed up and switch the play. Milner has impressed me a bit more recently but he is not as good as Henderson, bad first touch, not as good a passer.
Lallana looked awfull tonight, for someone with on of the best first touches i have seen i dont know why he needs several thousand other ones.

Henderson was way off the pace, but that is to be expected. Sturridge embarrassed himself with the lack of effort he put in. Still, half an hour without breaking himself will hopefully give him confidence and I'm sure we'll see more from him next time he plays.

Benteke is strong and can **** the ball dead hard, but he's not really what we need long term. We knew that already though.

Overall very poor, but we won... at home.... and after a European game.... and look at the table! We're on the march.
