Owen, Fowler, Heskey & Anelka. What a quartet of strikers that was. Think we lacked proper quality out wide, only Barmby, but also had a number of decent midfielders in Macca, Didi, Gerrard, Murphy & Berger. Maybe others I've missed out too.

Then there was the midfield under Rafa of Masch, Alonso, Gerrard & Momo but striker wise I think we only really ever had Kuyt & one other.
Anelka wasn't in that team, he was loaned the following season at for the second half of the season.

Sounds right. I certainly can't remember him being involved in the treble.

Yep, in 2000/01 we had Owen, Fowler, Heskey & Camara for the 1st half of the season, then sold Titi and signed Jari Litmanen in January.

Apparently, this is the team: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Lucas, Allen, Milner, Ibe, Firmino, Benteke

imo i think we'll see Henderson and Sturrdige in the starting line up at the expense of Allen and Benteke.....fitness permitting

That's what I was expecting except surprised Lallana is being rested. Klopp is showing a lot of faith in Ibe. Maybe wants some pace to break on the counters.

3 at the back went so well for Southampton 2nd half

It's weird not being worried about Lovren starting.

Would very much fancy our chances of a big win if they wanted to just go for it from the first whistle.

Come on Steve, send your boys out to attack.
