Hope we send the reserves to Sion. Give the squad a breather and get some more work done. We've done very well against the good teams but we've a bunch of winnable games coming up and its against those kind of teams we've struggled.

I think a midfield of Lucas & Allen is maybe too lightweight for this league. They looked good in midweek with Can in there with them & Allen a bit more advanced. Too often I felt NUFC players were just barging their way through in tight midfield contests. They lacked quality really to do anything with it, but we were too often second best in the challenge.

Going forwards, well I've seen Benteke up there with Firmino a few times now & they just don't click. Big Ben lacks the cuteness to play it on the deck with Firmy & RF just doesn't have the pace to run off Chris & get in behind when he's winning the knock ons. I still feel both will come good, but I don't see them being a success together in this league moving forwards.

Other than that, scrappy game we probably on the balance of play deserved a point. But you don't win titles by losing games like that on a regular basis. We won't always blow teams away.
      Forwards.......

Results against Chelsea & City suggest otherwise. Think it's more we need to find the right combinations.

We will be a completely different team when Milner, Allen, Ibe, Bentekkers and Firmino are on the bench. THIS was our reserve front 6 for Sion. WBA are screwed next week.

              A steaming pile of turd.

Passing was shocking, and the two big things Klopp relies on - pressing and winning the second balls aggressively - were not there on the most part. Newcastle players waltzed past Lucas, Allen and Milner with ease on a number of occasions, and apart from Ibe (and Lallana and Sturridge when they came on), our attackers were static.

A bad day at the office, and we need to move on from this. In a way, I'm glad we've come back down with a thud, because Klopp will learn a lot from today in terms of what's needed, and the players' mental state.

                Newcastle were very spirited.

My thoughts are that everyone did reasonably well bar Milner, Benteke and Firmino.

Milner just doesn't do it for me as an all round midfielder. Not mobile or quick enough on the ball.

Too many plodding average players in the squad and lots of them played today. We're going to get games like this.

The league is proper ****e, no decent teams in it. I think we'll finish 3rd or 4th.

We can carry one of Milner and Allen but not both.

                      A properly uninspiring duo.

                        yup

And that miss from Benteke I don't think he couldn't have been any closer to the goal line. To be fair to him, it took real skill to sky it over the cross bar from such close distance.

Didn't see the game as I was out all day, doesn't look like I missed much lol

Klopp very humble and shown great humility in that interview. As he said losing happens, we need to react and bounce back and I'm sure we will.

We were at 116km in the Spurs game too so seems pretty standard from us. Anyone point me to those stats from our other Klopp games? Others will try to out work us after today even though that's not why they won, one deflected shot and a goal on the break coupled with Benteke ****ing it and the Lino ****ting it is the story if the game. Not them out working us.
