I thought Allen was complete ****eOriginally posted by BigChief View PostAllen played well again. But Lucas was beyond ****. Hope it's just a one off.
Out muscled constantly, gave ball away too much and when he did pass it was side to side and backwards
I just don't get what he offers to the side on a consistent basis. He doesn't won enough possession and he doesn't affect the play enough at the top end
He shouldn't start another Premier league gameBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I don't expect Allen to be here next season. With Graeme Kelly suggesting extremely strong interest in Ruben Neves, and with Can and Henderson in our ranks (also Lucas), I'd be amazed if he was kept on. I think anything positive said about him by Klopp will be to maximise performances until he can get rid.

Liverpool have named their squad for the Europa League group stage – and there is no place for Jose Enrique.Originally posted by redmike65 View PostAnyone know if Brad Smith is able to play against Sion?
The Spaniard, who has been frozen out at Anfield, is not among the 21-man list which was submitted to Uefa this week.
His is the only notable omission, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Christian Benteke and Jordan Henderson all named. Daniel Sturridge, who is edging closer to a return to full training, is also on the list.
Jordon Ibe is not on the list, but will still be eligible for the group stage as he is on the Reds’ B-list.
Under Uefa rules, a player can be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA.
Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season.
Liverpool have been drawn in Group B of this season’s Europa League, alongside Bordeaux, Rubin Kazan and FC Sion. They will kick off their campaign away to Bordeaux on Thursday 17 September.
Full squad: Mignolet, Bogdan, Clyne, Gomez, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Milner, Can, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Origi, Ings, Sturridge, Benteke
Not sure if this answers your question. That rug really tied the room together.

No its notOriginally posted by BigChief View PostThat's not a surprise Lecter.
I have been consistent in my criticism of him, Lovren and even Brendan of the last year or so
Maybe I am wide of the mark but somehow I doubt it
I am tempted to add Benteke to that list as well as I don't think he will make it eitherBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

One thing about Klopp is he doesn't criticise players openly but I think there are clearly players who won't survive. IMO Allen will be one of themBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He wasn't that bad, but he wasn't good either. He looks like someone's younger brother playing in an age group above, constantly barged over, trampled and bullied. He's too weak.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI thought Allen was complete ****e

I'm not convinced by Benteke - when he starts apart from the odd moment, we're not much more of a threat than last year - he's a good sub though. And if you do play him, why not play Origi who can play round him with pace and is used to him. And no Cout through injury and no Lallana either. Weird team selection. Static uncreative midfield with a mis-matched static pair up front. Maybe we should have started as we finished and brought Benteke on after 60 mins.
I was bloody looking forward to this as a potentially enjoyable game - typical...

He was sharp in possession but as Lec pointed out isn't that creative. He's a willing worker off the ball but doesn't have the physicality. When the team is ticking he shines, when it's off the boil his limitations show up.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostHe wasn't that bad, but he wasn't good either. He offered very similar to Lucas today. He looked better in possession but I don't know the stats for defensive work & stats rarely tell the true story anyway. But for me, two lightweight players as your two DM's just doesn't cut it in the premier league.
Allen & Can, fine.
Lucas & Can, fine.
Lucas & Allen, oh dear.
It's not that they're particularly bad players, it's just as a combination they don't work. Midweek we played a sort of diamond and Lucas at the base with Allen & Can wider was fine.
It's my similar arguments for further up the pitch today. The combinations just weren't right.Forwards.......

I think if you're playing Benteke you need to have a partner up there with him or pace coming in from either deep or out wide. Having said that I saw three golden chances for him today.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostI'm not convinced by Benteke - when he starts apart from the odd moment, we're not much more of a threat than last year - he's a good sub though. The miss from the corner is the obvious one. Less so is that when Allen took a strike from 20 yards as it came across his body, Benteke was clear on goal with a simple 6 yard pass. Also a wild strike from Firmino, Benteke was isolating a NUFC defender at the back post. A decent dink in from RF and Chris has a very good chance.
To me the players today were expecting things from their team mates that just aren't going to happen. RF looks like he's missing Couts whilst Benteke is wondering why RF keeps trying to do that quick inter change when all Chris wants to do is knock it down and run on.Forwards.......
