        Absolute heroes.
        'Absolute heroes' you say?

I can understand the odd supporter, desperate for a ticket, donning a mac and heading into the opposing end, but I can't see the logic of trying to get in the home part of a stadium, and chanting for liverpool... I'm sure it's heroic and all that, but it invites sanctions from the FA/UEFA, as the results are never going to be pretty and settled by a handshake...

In an ideal world, fans of either side should be free to mingle... I've been to German handball games, and its just like that... You're even able to have beer in your seat while watching, and everyone clears up their rubbish after the game!!

Surely the reason we have such draconian 'safety' rules here is for the very reason that you seem to be lauding...

As a serious question, would you as a person really want to hurt an opposing fan? Even a man utd one?
The fact that you seem able to use fingers and an opposing thumb to type on here, would suggest not, yet you seem to egg on behaviour that would potentially land many people in hospital... for what? We beat them.

We criticise them for singing Hillsborough songs. A terrible event where 96 pour souls lost their lives watching football.
Why would you cheer on behaviour that might quite easily result in other fans, from either side, getting injured?

I'm not the superfan that you are... I don't live local to Liverpool, but I've been a supporter since I was 7, which is a lot of years ago now. But I've never had the urge to indulge in, or support activity that would end in violence...

        It's football ffs

As a fanbase, we should rise above it... We still have the title of most things won... We have a great manager, and an evolving team.

The reports of liverpool fans ripping up seats and throwing them (if true) is terrible...

Although maybe they were just helping to remove the unnecessary seats for European ties in their near future

Seriously mate, though it may sound like it, I'm not having a go, just would like to think, from the majority on here, that we were smart enough not to get sucked into irrational hatred of other folk, just because they support another team...

Hating utd as a club, however, has my full backing

If you don't get why a group of younguns going in the Utd end and taking the piss is boss then you don't get it and never will. Nothing to do with being a super fan, scouse or whatever other **** you want to write. And dont bring Hillsborough in to it, it has nothing to do with it.

Your "ideal world" sounds ****. Moody atmospheres are the best atmospheres. I don't want to socialise with them, I have my own friends or fellow supporters for that.

So broken bones and smashed faces is worth it? Well let's agree to disagree. I think football is just a game. Not worth anyone losing their life over...

I do 'get' the young ones doing what they do, just would rather not them get beaten up for a photo opportunity...

and as for my 'ideal world', you my friend would never understand...

                Your ideal world is cock?

Seriously though, a bit of wind up bantz is one thing but inciting a baying crowd is another.

I get wound up by the upsurge in testosterone that surrounds football. I'd rather watch it on TV than give my son the opportunity to get embroiled in that kind of behaviour.

Surely it's jingoism in another form?

Thank god our end wasn't filled with bores like you on Thursday! And who said anything about broken bones or people getting murdered?! They took a banner in the Manc end, it was funny, no one got hurt, get over it.

Only just got round to watching the game. The thing that amazed me the most is the possibility that Trevor Francis actually commands a fee for that amount of inane drivel.

Not sure it's wise for a club associated with Heysel to have fans happy about crowd trouble

                              Mature...

                              But funny

I can understand that 'high jinx' can be amusing... My concern is that if fans sneak into the away end, and end up getting pasted, it potentially ends up in the police wading in, skulls getting cracked, and when the FA look into it with their eyes of wisdom (cough) they'll pin the blame on the instigators. Wrongly or rightly the side who's fans started it... but if it makes a good facebook picture...

As has been seen recently, a banner on the motorway, being charged with singing abusive songs... it's not a level playing field, so why try and make a situation worse by having a banner in the away end... Some mindless thugs may see that as an excuse to kick the crap out of an opposing fan as retribution, and the 'family' aspect of the game is further eroded...

Chris maybe right. A supporters area of people like me may not be willing to shout abuse at people we don't know on the basis of a football team, as I don't have some irrational tribal hatred of people based on who they support.
I'd rather cheer on the team I support, rather than dwell on the hate...

I'm sure I'm a lesser fan because of it, but if being a fan is measured on how much you hate people you don't even know, then I'm happy with that.

                              But boys will be boys...

I was sat in the Alex Ferguson stand right on the halfway line on the second tier. When Phil scored myself and another Liverpool fan behind me celebrated and yes we got some dirty looks but that was it. Everyone around us just got on with it. There was no arguing, no nastiness and when the game ended a few said "well played".

I don't know why Liverpool have been charged with "abusive chants" as I never heard anything like that from them, however I did constantly hear "always the victim" and "murderers" from the united fans.
