I'm glad we've avoided a long distance trip to Ukraine.

Each of the games played yesterday contained comical defending from all sides. Clearly all out attack is called for!
    Was muß, das muß.

Very strong defensively according to euro footie expert from the racing post and have seen off some top teams this season.

Loved the way Klopp headed Lovrens goal too, the bloke kicks and heads every chance we get! Even sitting down!

Yeah we were all over the shop defensively. Not many people mentioning Mignolet, thought he did very well considering how exposed he was left.

I think in the system that Klopp plays and with the personnel we have, the fullbacks provide the width. Last night and in previous games the fullbacks are asked to push so high that Dortmund were running riot in that midfield. IMO you do need an anchor to sit in front of the CB's in a system like that. When Allen came on we looked so much more balanced.

definitely the toughest side we could have faced out of the 3. Their outstanding at home too.

how good was julian weigl again last night. that lad just ran their entire midfield. He was playing with two number 10's in kagawa and castro but held it together for them really well.

wouldnt mind us putting in a cheeky bid for him because he was outstanding.

Nah there was also a guy in a white jacket flinging a LFC scarf Klopp was clinging at his jacket by the shoulder, partly to celebrate, partly to keep him at a safe distance

Lucky that you weren't a scout for Villareal last summer then Mike

Watching last night I wondered if he's the player Tex might have been.

They've been waxing lyrical about Weigl, does look a huge talent. He's only 20 but he looks about 15! Some talent though, dominated that midfield last night for most of the game.

Yeah I had to chuckle at that! A search shows not one mention of him in the summer from anyone!

I was convinced Nemeth was going to be the next Dalglish, so you're not wrong!

Bakambu is a good player, granted. Seen him a few weeks back for the first time and you could immediately see he had talent. He didn't get much game time at the start of the season though, and looked off the pace originally (according to Sky)

Next time Dan, just say he surprised you rather than you wanted us to sign him - seems a bit far-fetched

God forbid I speak about football outside of EST Christopher.

I watch a bit of Spanish football and Villarreal are no mugs, they are solid at the back and work very hard out of possession. Their best defender Musacchio is injured again after being out for a long time and I'm not sure if he'll be fit for our games.

The thing is even though they are a decent side they would have been my pick out of the remaining sides to get. Shakthar is a long trip to the Ukraine & Sevilla have won this twice in a row so they seem to know what they are at. We've got the second leg at home so as long as we are still in the tie after the first leg then anything is possible.

One other thing - Roberto Soldado is up front for them and we know how much he "fancies" a cold English night in April......
