And Firmino starting ahead of him last week really worked didn't it? In a game where we need to win you play your best goalscorer. Sturridge will start on Thursday, I am absolutely certain of this.

Sturridge had almost nothing to work with today and still managed to create a couple of half chances.

He's our best chance of goals on Thursday and should be starting.

Yeah it would be madness if he doesn't start, not arsed about pressing or whatever, they are barely going to leave their penalty area anyway. Like Rich said in the other thread Benteke might have a role to play at some point aswell.

His trickery in the box is such an asset. Let's go for an early pen haha

I'm talking more long term. I think Origi or another striker will lead the line next season, not Sturridge.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Just been looking at the table, we have now conceded 48 goals in the PL so far this season, we conceded 48 last season and 50 the season before. That's almost 150 goals in 3 seasons which is a shocking record. That is also the time since Carragher retired, we really need to bring someone in who can replace the leadership and organisation that we had when he was in the side, because regardless of who we have played since we have missed that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I bloody hate football sometimes. That was dreadful, and entirely predicatable. I'm guessing Sturridge isn;t a premium player now he keeps getting played in the meaningless fixtures.

                    Questions, Jurgen, questions....

It's not all doom and gloom though, I'm confident he can shore up the defence as well, it just takes a bit longer.

                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge looked ahead to the Europa League after the 3-1 defeat at Swansea: "Absolutely gutted. Thanks to the fans for travelling and supporting us. God willing Thursday will be a better result."

we all need to get on the prayer phone then.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                                have to say I disagree.

The first goal - the corner should have been his. Any keeper who doesn't claim a cross that is converted from inside the 6 yard line is at fault in my view. Ward showed his inexperience getting distracted with the player who was standing right in front of him (who incidentally was a Liverpool player)

For me he was also culpable for one of the other goals - he had the ball at his feet and passed it to Skrtel (I think) who was 1 on 1 with an attacker who pressed him. Ball should have gone from Ward to an area of the pitch that we had an overload
