I did the same in Istanbul - we had a hotel booked as part of the package but never even went there. If I had a ticket and flights then I'd make it work, you'll be up all night anyway!

Win or lose you'll be up all night - I went to Liverpool in 2007 and I don't think we slept that night either! I have fully regressed now by planning on watching this one at home.

In my defence I'm going to see IRE v BEL in the Euros with a few buddies I went to college with. 4 hard days in Bordeaux to look forward to

Seven hours later I was on the plane. The game was epic, I remember half time thinking 'why the **** did I bother' it was one of the lowest points in my life, a small hour later, life was as good as it gets. Partied all night and slept all the way home

My ticket was down in the stand by the Milan end, me and 4 others surrounded by Milan fans. 3 of the hardest looking ****ers I ever say then sat in behind us so I thought we'd be ok. They left at half time! The thing was the Milan fans were so shocked there was never going to be hassle. All the goals and pens were at my end!

We were ferried onto buses to the airport and I spent what seems like an eternity signing we are the champions in some tent waiting for the flight. It was messy all right but what memories.

You have to feel for the ****ers that left. It crossed my mind, but being a glass half full or more fella, it was never going to happen. Those memories will be with me for eternity
