Exactly right, our offer may be 'only' 3k a week (if that's to believed) but that will be his basic with very heavily weighted appearance targets and bonuses.

Gives young players something to aim for still, it's a way of trying to make sure they stay hungry and progress.
Canos won't be asking for a 3 years deal either, it'll be 4 or 5 years starting on 10k a week and rising, all contracts are.

As I said in the Rossiter thread months ago - he was asking for money well above his experience and ability so (imo) the club were right to say no to him, Canos is the same.
I'd have liked to keep both of them but if they would rather chance a quick pay day at a lesser club good luck to them, football is a short career and they have to make their money while they can.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

mmmm, but how many games is he going to play in next year to achieve those bonus payments?

How much will we pay a Grujic or Steven Caulker to do **** all?

We dont know what his bonuses and extras are but 3k on a promising player who actually looks the part is pretty poor. If we think hes good enough to play for us then we should be offering a little more to keep him. Not silly money, but not 3k. The kid has zero reasons to stay with us since I doubt he followed us when he was younger. If hes good enough, and it sounds like he most likely is, then make him one of us. Nothing breeds resentment more than knowing a bunch of people around you are getting paid way more than you and are ****tier at their job.

I tend to agree with both of you.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I agree with you. The young up & coming stars are seeing silly money being offered to mediocre players since the TV money went through the roof & they want a share. Can't blame em for that.

Isn't there talk of a buy back clause though?

In all honesty, he probably wasn't going to make it anyway. Just like (Sorry RedMike), Ojo, Smith, Stewart and the rest.

                    So then Sergi Canos
                    He could have
                    But he cannot
As he is now a Canary.

If we have a buy back clause then it could be good for all parties...

I would hope that we have a buy back option and a sell on clause that should be a standard procedure for selling youngsters.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
