Aye, was of Grobbelaar proportions!...We need a keeper who is eccentric but brilliant!
Was more interested in his reaction after that gaff...just put out his hand as if to say sorry but not bothered & he just got on with it!
Wonder if Mignolet sat on the bench cackling & rubbing his hands after that?
Which is exactly what you want. He had a great game, his best yet and made a mad **** up too but it didn't affect him. He's mentally strong. All keepers make gaffes. Mig made loads and they usually cost us a goal, so far Karius hasn't had a goal costing error.
Mig isn't up top it and its far too early to tell if Karius is the answer but I'm happy with how its been going for him and our defence is clearly getting better as the stats show.
He's not convincing, I thought he could have done better for 2 of the goals today, their 2nd goes through/under his hands and the winner is the type of mistake top quality keepers rarely make. I'm not blaming him for the defeat today there were so many other problems. But in these situations you need a top class keeper - someone who will make saves and dominate the goal, give the impression that you aren't going to score or at least you really have to earn it. Today 2nd half you just knew that Bournemouth were going to score more goals and you didn't get the impression that we could deny them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Early doors but that wasn't great. Let the second through his hands Bit of bad luck about too, ball bounced off him for the 4th striaight to their player and on one of the other goals we missed the chance to clear it by millimeters about 5 times. Small details.

It's small details like that though that are the difference between winning and losing games though. In games were you are under pressure you need your keeper and defence to be convincing/dominant and you need them to be able to tip the game in your favour, now IMO it wouldn't have taken a world class save in either case to stop one of those goals, it's just about not making the mistake.

I don't see any difference between him and Mignolet. They both have the same weaknesses and are a backup keeper at best. We need a keeper who can command his box and can actually keep the team in the game.
His distribution is a million times better than Mignolet.
His distribution is better than that of Mignolet, but in most other areas IMO there is little to choose between them at the moment. Hopefully given time Karius will improve.

Mignolet is a much better shot stopper. I'm sick of this distribution and being good on the ball ****e. Bottom line is goalies are there to save goals which poor Karius seems unable to do.
This lad has much better distribution but he can't save for shot. Dived over the 2nd, dropped the winner from a shot straight at him, nearly put a cross in his own net first half and punched a shot that was straight down his throat al out into the net.
I think people are forgetting about Mig and pretty much every shot he faces goes in. Karius was poor today as were a number of them, Mignolet is certainly no better though
