We need a ball playing keeper really to allow us to build better from the back and I think Karius has the ability to do that but does not seem to have the confidence to just go on and do it just yet and maybe is the reason Klopp is playing him. There's his chance.

That would be nice, but more than anything we need a top class keeper who makes saves and rarely makes mistakes, those have to be the priorities anything else is a bonus.

I thought that he was lucky to only be responsible for one goal, there were a couple of other moments where he looked uncomfortable, he is terrible at dealing with crosses.

Karius just doesnt ever seem to 'do any saves' which is an issue for any aspiring glovesman.

I cant think of many games he has played in where he has had much to do, but the ones that spring to mind are Bournemouth away last year, and yesterday. Every single shot on his goal seems to end up in the net.

Now, I'm no goalkeeping expert... but that seems problematic. Klopp clearly sees something in him that he hoped would develop, and to be fair you can see he has the raw potential. But it has not developed and he looks overawed by the club and the task at hand.

Mignolet isnt great either but he is greaterer than Karius.
