First goal, Karius should have done much better but the last two were impossible to save. Both great finishes and this can happen in football when you're 4-1 down as the pressure is off and you finish with aplomb in the bottom corner.

I think what really changed the course of the game for me was Milner's catastrophic introduction. I'm a big fan, but he was awful and also gave away the free kick at the end phew!

I see that Klopp has told the german media Karius is now our No1 keeper. When asked about the first goal he let in from Sane. Klopp replied. "People will always find hairs in soup"

I'm wondering if Klopp has seen that Karius functions better than Mignolet with VVD in training

I don't have much faith in Karius but I'm happy for Klopp to give him a chance (until the end of the season)... as long as we keep on winning.
            Another MASSIVE game

It is cliched I know but we need a keeper with presence and authority; neither Mig nor Karius have that imo and it really does affect the confidence at the back. I think it is only a matter of time before we sign a suitable keeper, just hope its in this window.

I know Mignolet isn't good enough for us, four and a half years of history tells me that. I don't know if Karius is good enough because he has never been given a proper run of games to show if he can make it. Let him play all the remaining games this seasyand make a judgement based on that.

What this tells me is either Karius or another keeper will be no 1 next season, I think this is the end of Mignolet

Karius seems to have regressed since joining us. He was a very agile shot stopper when he played in the Bundesliga, but even that side of his game seems to have vanished now.

When he joined us I thought he was about at the same level of Mignolet but with more scope to improve. Also remember saying at the time that he came with many of the same flaws to his game as Mignolet.

I don't know if it it something to do with our goalkeeping coaching or the fact that he was understudy to Mignolet rather than a beter keeper, but he plays so differently now to before he joined.

No being quick to sweep, no deep confidence so he does not get rattled after a mistake, no changing/evoling of his keeping style.

Cannot help but wonder if we had gotten someone like Ralf Fahrmann in, and made Karius his understudy, would we have seen the younger keeper at the club take on aspects of Fahrmann's style rather than becoming Mig mark 2.

Karius is dog **** - he's young and may improve that it is no good to us now. *****r is marginally better and should start but we badly need a new keeper

Totally agree that we need a new keeper, and a good one at that.

Is why I would love to see a seasoned but not old quality keeper like Ralf Fahrmann come in and have Karius and Ward learning from him.

Someone like Allison at Roma would tick the right boxes for a quality younger keeper.

VVD was all over him against Everton - telling him what to do, when to come out, when to stay - it was like a goalkeeping 101 lesson - great that VVD can rule the roost but worrying that Karius had to be told what to do every time the ball came near him

I'm not a fan of either but Karius hasn't been given much of a look in so needs to at least be given that opportunity. We do need a keeper though and agree it's where the bulk of our transfer spend should go on.
