The issue of whether he is good enough and whether he was concussed are two seperate ones.

The issue of concussion raises questions about protocols surrounding head injuries in football. Karius received no medical attention on the pitch despite complaining to the referee. If he had maybe this could have been established at the time.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Commentators said that in the 32 games prior to the final he had made one mistake that led to a goal. He had been pretty safe. However, in the final prior to the first goal he weakly punched a couple of efforts back in to danger areas. I think he was overwhelmed by the day and the decision to target him may have come at half time

It could be the occasion it could be the impact. I don't know if we will ever know

At the end of the day Sergio Ramos deliberately took out our biggest attacking threat, elbowed our keeper into potential concussion and dived around like Tom Daley in a tutu all night - Man is cunt and I demand a replay with him banned and beheaded by one of Madam Guillotine's bluntest machines.

Regardless of what may have happened, it's irrelevant. It's done and its gone. I don't blame him. No one means to do that and if concussion has something to do with it, it's incredibly unfortunate. This knowledge isn't going to give him a miraculous confidence boost. He's damaged goods until proved otherwise.

No doubt concussion can effect performance. I know a few of us here are boxing fans; if you saw the Victor Ortiz - Maidana fight several years ago, it's been reported that Ortiz was concussed early in that fight and didn't perform near his best and has struggled to replicate his best form since. Despite this he was capable of behaving relatively normally during the duration of that fight and even drop Maidana.

Also, this Ramos stuff is getting so tedious. Yes, he's a prick but he gets the job done. I'd love it if he were in a Liverpool shirt. Serial winner. If he played for us and got away with injuring Ronaldo and concussing Navas on our way to number 6, we would find it hilarious. I don't necessarily agree with what he does, but he does what he feels he needs to do - and it's effective. He defends his clubs badge by any means necessary, there have been far far more malicious players in many teams over the years.

If Karius was concussed, would be not feel anything and indicate he has a problem and maybe get substituted?

No, he'd most probably want to play on (did you read the twitter thread I posted?). Salah tried to play despite being physically mangled.

Not necessarily. It's possible to not realise you're concussed. In your mind you may think that you're operating rationally when you're not. I was hit in the head with a cricket ball when fielding, then opened the batting an hour later. I retrospectively found out that I had a concussion and it explained my erratic performance at the time. At no point did I consider that I could have had an issue despite feeling cloudy/foggy. Obviously if it was identified he should have, but in a big game situation, even if he did I doubt he'd want to voluntarily come off. You can't even blame the medical team as there are so many collisions each game, that looks completely innocuous. Just a general **** up.

Ok I get that but after the first error, why didn’t he make the call (assuming the brain fart moment was linked to the concussion) to go off?

Biggest game of his life. Difficult call to make if you think you can get through it.

We've all ****ed up in games and we've all wanted to stay on the pitch and make up for the mistakes. And that's just on a Tuesday night at the sports centre.

I'm not sure anyone can really criticise him for staying on. If the medical staff could have had an inkling of the problem, it would have been their call in reality.

But a hugely difficult call to make whichever way look at it.

This is PR from the club, otherwise why is the US doctor breaching patient confidentiality by telling the whole world about Karius' medical condition?

You are usually the worst person to judge if you are concussed
