I've rarely in my life wanted someone to bounce back in a blaze of blazing glory as I now do this lad. He's a 25 year old kid who's just starting out in the context of the position he plays and this sort of thing could ruin him. It's this sort of **** that leads to mental health issues, self esteem issues, depression etc etc. Those attacking him just need to **** off and focus on their own empty, **** pathetic lives. **** the internet and all those negative ****s who feel the need to pollute it.

just not heard anyone mention england's captain making two significant errors in the biggest game england have had in almost 30 years where as the spotlight has been so much on our GK since he had his poor game.
Although it's different because technically it only cost his team once. It's not like he could have played Sterling in to tap in and also scored as well. Had it been 2 separate passages of play, then yeah.

He has dropped 2 clangers in pre season, both causing goals, plus other errors already. He will be a mare if he is allowed to play for us.

He needs to move on and rebuild his career. A move back to Germany will be best for him.

Not to say the abuse he is taking is deserved but in my time as a Liverpool fan, I've witnessed a lot of players take a lot more stick for less without getting half the sympathy Karius gets.

Jose Enrique was hounded off social media because of abuse from fans making totally unsubstantiated claims he didn't care about the game.

Mignolet took just as much abuse despite not making mistakes to the same magnitude of Karius.

Sturridge takes loads of stick for being injury prone as if he can control it.

Seems to be the fickleness of modern fans. Obviously not right but the way it is for a significant amount of fans.

It's not the fickleness of fans, it's the safety of anonymity in the crowd. Most of these people would **** themselves if Karius looked them in the eye for more than a second.

I wish it were only football which suffered from it, but actually it is a large portion of society who seem to feel that venting at others is a natural and acceptable way to feel better about their own short-comings, which is made easier with the anonymity of social media. Misplaced anger.. if only one could tap it for political gain..
                Really?

I agree with your points but that also doesn't discount the hypocrisy I'm pointing out. Fans are fickle, they quickly turn on the players of their own team instead of supporting them.

Yup I agree - pretty horrible to see, and very common.

I think there's a big difference between that sort of general toxicity Enrique received from sections of the fanbase particularly those emboldened to be knobs on social media, and the particularly public humiliation and subsequent constant unforgiving glare Karius is under where the online abuse serves to constantly prod at the wound.

For sure the two scenarios are different, not saying they are the same. (I actually think Enriques is worse - bloke got abuse for totally unsubstantiated claims based on him being on Instagram like over a billion people on the planet these days.)

I'm merely pointing out Karius isn't the first and it seems illogical to me that some say he deserves sympathy (he does of course) but didn't say the same for the others.

Mignolet had a lot of stick from pundits and fans alike for his errors. I recall him being called some pretty horrible things on here and few having sympathy for him.

At the end of the day he shouldn't be playing, simple as.

Klopp and the coaching staff should not be picking him as they know he's going to get jumped upon so the simple solution is, don't play him.

Don't agree with the abuse he's had but I've no sympathy for him as a player as he is just a poor Goalkeeper and not of the standard required so I'd rather we channeled our efforts into finding him another club so we can **** him off.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Enrique's would have been easier (and I mean easier, not easy) to brush off. His family, friends, teammates and others within the club knew the truth. Many fans had no ****ing idea about his Instagram, not all fans live on the internet. He had a tough time from them because he wasn't cutting it, and that's rough no doubt.

Karius lives his daily life knowing everyone knows his mistakes, and that everyone saying the right things to his face might really be harbouring the same resentment the toxic trolls let loose with. No escape, no safe place. That's way, way ****ing worse for my money.

Enrique or Mig weren't making BBC news for a pre-season warm up FFS. They also weren't getting jeered for every touch and ironically clapped every time they didn't mi**** a pass in nothing friendlies against relatively neutral fans. This is a whole new level to anything they received.
