Benteke - one of our worst ever signings

Mignolet - One of the worst we've ever had, a goalie that doesn't save shots.

Skrtel - One of the worst we've ever had

Lucas - A god but looked shot in midfield, don't see the point in him staying with more arrivals. Especially if we are going to carry on playing this way, ie pretty much Can in midfield on his own at times, Lucas ain't got the legs for that. Maybe Sakho getting a huge ban will change things as he's been good at CB.

Moreno - ****ting out at anytime is bad, in a final is unforgivable.

Balotelli, Wisdom etc. Maybe a surprise like Hendo.

The start of the 2017-18 season will see a totally different team.

Not even close. He's had a torrid two years but overall he's been very good in his time with us.

I'm not convinced to be honest. I don't think the owners will want that.

Think we missed Henderson last night, that midfield had zero energy and was over run.
Agreed it does leave us a bit short in mf but with Klopp and his magic I'm sure there will be a big change in the overall squad which personally I think is much needed bar a few real quality players we have at the moment which are going to be first class

Difficult one, fit and in form he is one hell of a player, we then to win when he is in the mood. But injuries have really set him back.

The bit in bold is the tricky bit with him. This season he has been excused due to injuries which is fair enough. But his first two seasons at the club were underwhelming to say the least and last season (2014/15) he was pretty average for long spells.

The one season in which he stood out on a regular basis was the 2013/14 season.

He is a decent player, but if we were linked to a player who had performed as he has done for the previous two seasons then I suspect a lot of responses in this forum would be along the lines of "WTF?"

Seen others suggest that Neves would be the type of player who comes with a high quality range of skills that would tick most of the boxes needed but have not seen enough of him to know how good he may be or become.

Personally I think we need a much higher calibre of player than him in the centre. We need one that can dictate play on a regular basis and who can set a tempo whilst carrying a physical presence (or high quality defensive abilities) . That's why I think we should be going after someone like Xhaka as hard as we can.

Failing to get Xhaka (and he does look Arsenal bound) then I think the likes of Leon Goretzka or Johannes Geis (both at Schalke) would both represent different styles of player who could fit in the role.

Would be quite happy to get one from Geis or Goretzka and let them compete with Henderson for the starting position.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

There is a reason for that, over time and cyclical evolution we have built a squad to keep us firmly positioned where we are, i.e. midtable or just under the top 4. Each and every player now plays to their potential to keep us there as that's what they are built to do.

Klopp can squeeze 20% more out of them occasionally but you can't keep squeezing forever. We simply need better fruit now and hopefully that's where Klopp will go picking.

The likes of injured-Studge, Lallana, Coutinho, Skrtel, Henderson, Milner have done their bit and we're grateful. But they all need replacing if we are serious about being mainstays in an ever more difficult top 4 or even challenging for the league. Maybe not all of them to leave this summer but certainly all of them by the end of next season.

                          1. Martin Skrtel - 2 Years Left – 31 – Sell.
                          2. Mario Balotelli 2 Years Left- 25 – Sell.
                          3. Andre Wisdom - 23 - 3 Years left – Sell.
                          4. Tiago Ilori – 23 – 2 years left – Sell.
                          5. Tiexera – 23- End of Contract Release – Release.
                          6. Moreno – 23 3 years left on contract – Keep him as back up or sell for good price.
                          7. Ryan McLaughlin – Realise / Free - Release.
                          8. Adam Bogdan – Sell.
                          9. Benteke – Sell.
                          10. Samed Yesil – Release
                          11. Kolo Toure - Release.
                          12. Ibe - Sell.
                          13. Lucas - Sell.
                          14. Alberto - Sell.
                          15. Mignolet - If possible, doubt it though.

I'd listen to good offers for Allen, Henderson and Moreno. Klopp needs to be ruthless now, maybe this result will help him be that.

We don't have Europe so we don't need a huge squad, we have Ojo, Brannagan, Stewart, Smith and Chirivella in reserve and Markovic coming back. I'm livid at Moreno, but I'd consider keeping him as back up, he's only 23 years old.

I see the squad as likely being something like:

                          Keepers
                          Mignolet
                          Karius
                          Ward

                          Defenders
                          Clyne
                          Flanagan
                          Moreno
                          Gomez
                          Lovren
                          Sakho
                          Matip
                          New CB
                          New LB

                          Midfielders
                          Can
                          Henderson
                          Grujic
                          Milner
                          Allen
                          Stewart
                          New player

                          Attackers
                          Sturridge
                          Ings
                          Origi
                          Markovic
                          Coutinho
                          Firmino
                          Lallana
                          New player

That's 27 players, of which about 11 count as homegrown.

Do we have a panic now smilie gif?

I reckon 90% of those who should leave we can all agree on, they are largely self selecting. Its not as if they are going to create much disruption by leaving and being replaced either.

                            Mig - bench
                            Enrique - gone
                            Skrtel out - Matip in
Moreno out - Cresswell, Chilwell or preferably Hector in
Henderson out - this will be debated and has been but if the offer was there I'd take it. I worry that he'll never by very athletic again and that he has nothing else really.
                            Balotelli out - obviously!
                            Benteke out -
Bogdan out - Mig can take his place

I'd keep Kolo for his nouse, Lucas if Sahko gets banned or indeed binned, Allen if he wants to stay. Ibe not sure - another loan if a winger comes in. But he might prefer to leave. Markovic needs testing this summer.

                            Plus out for

                            Wisdom - Championship side
Alberto - Spainish side will take him, he's had a pretty good loan in truth.
                            Yesil - goodness knows
                            Sinclair - Watford links persist
                            Ilori - somewhere will suit
                            Teixeira - Fiorentina looks likely

Easier for me to state which senior players (i.e not counting Ibe, Ojo etc...) I'd 100% keep -
                              Sakho
                              Clyne
                              Lovren
Gomez (I know he's a youngster but I'd play him ahead of Toure or Skrtel next season)
                              Can
                              Milner
                              Firmino
                              Origi
                              Ings

That's it, I like Sturridge, Henderson and Lallana and would like Klopp to keep them but couldn't grumble if he moves them on.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

We need to have the results of Sakho's ban ASAP, so we can plan for it. If he's out for 6 months than we don't need to change our plans that much but 12 months and we need to get in a new player. We should maybe get in a new LCB just in case.

The only player I want to keep is Can, everyone else is expendable.
