We'll only need a small squad next season, we could probably get rid of 7/8 without replacing.

    Balotelli
    Benteke
    Allen
    Ibe
    Sinclair
    Tex
    Enrique
    Markovic
    Illori

That lot can all be sold or released without needing to be replaced whilst a few others like Henderson, Lallana, Bogdan, Skrtel, Lucas, Moreno can be replaced by better players.

There will be at least a minimum of six coming in and probably twice as many going out.

Reckon Klopp will be recruiting mainly from the German Bundesliga?... that might give us some of the mental toughness we need to spread across the squad. Don't see many German's bottling it on a regular basis.

Goetze would be great. Matip looks very good. Don't know much about Zielinski and Karius. One pacy wide player like Brahimi or Yarmolenko would add to what we have in attack. Decent left back like Hector or similar. We then finally need a midfield general, box to box type player like Alonso, Gerrard in his heyday. A Reus, Xhaka, Kante type... but that would likely come with one or two leaving from the current CMs...

I'd expect two pacy wide men to come in, and with the links to Zielinski and Dahoud, it looks like Klopp wants two 'box-to-box' midfielders in the centre, rather than your traditional 'Alonso' type of player.

That's why I don't expect Allen to stay, because he doesn't have that aggressivity or advanced technical ability and stature. Henderson is another who doesn't have the technical skills required, which is why I expect him to leave too.

I think he wants one - Zielinski has been Buvac's scouting project from what I've read, so Dahoud is probably the second option.

What do you think our central midfield will consist of next season?

Karius has just been voted Bundesliga goalkeeper of the season.

                      Phoenix07,

At a random guess of the senior squad for the central areas

                      Can - stopper
                      Zielinski or Dahoud - creator
                      Grujic - legs
                      Milner - legs

Question marks over Hendo (pre-season will tell Klopp whether he is fixed), Lucas, and Allen as Zielinski or Dahoud both play his role

If Henderson does leave then surely another body will come in. Lucas and Allen are probably off.

Milner is the sticking point for me. I'm not convinced he should play the central midfield role, but I think he'd be a good impact player off the bench in a wide area. His ability to create (often from that position) is brilliant (as we've seen from his recent exploits). He won't like it either.

Milner isn't a CM certainly in a midfield 2 maybe ok in a 3, To be honest I think most of our midfielders are more suited to a 3 than a 2.

The thing to be careful of is next season we will have alot less games, this year we have had 63 I believe, next year that will be less than 50, probably around 45, we won't need as many players, so squad players who aren't getting much game time this year will be getting less next season. This may influence the decisions of players like Lucas and Allen - players we might like to keep but won't be regular starters.

Apologies I forgot about him .. he's been a real bright spot of that season. He is a player. I would be gutted if we lost him, he is going to be a monster of a player.
