I think they played a mix of players and will switch it up for us. If Liverpool and United want to come, they'll happily take the gate receipts.

Villa played 2 separate trials yesterday which I thought was odd too.

Lots of teams are doing it. The League of Ireland sides have done it twice already, a league game & the next day a friendly. They only play the kids or squad payers in the friendlies so if anyone is gambling it's a cracking option to bet against them.

Wigan accepted the Man Utd offer at pretty short notice - July 4th I think The Liverpool game was scheduled weeks earlier, still they won't mind and nor will Liverpool.

For the first time in some years the club have not sent the U18s or U16s to the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland and as far as I can tell bar those two games in the States already played the U21s are not playing anywhere either.

edit that - the U21s played Sonnenhof Großaspach yesterday.

I take it we'll have separate squads for both matches? Surely we won't have any players playing against Barca Saturday evening, then travelling all the way to Germany for another match the next afternoon, one week before the season starts.
