i think we will see a 4-2-3-1 a lot but i wouldn't mind seeing both Sturridge and Origi both start some games as well to be honest.

I think Sturridge is a brilliant finisher....but one thing that he mightn't get enough credit is that he a brilliant striker partner as well. When we had Sturridge and Suarez up front, Sturridge was very intelligent in his movement - and he use to drop wide a lot with great effect.

So although I suspect that Klopp will probably start with one of them, I wouldn't be surprised to sometimes see both start. Even if it means Origi starts on the left of a 3, and takes turns with Sturridge.

One thing the whole Sturridge or Origi conversation doesnt even touch is Ings.

How great is it that we now have genuine strength in depth?? With Origi, Sturridge, Firmino, Ings, Mane, Coutinho, Wjinaldum all capable of getting us goals, I am pretty confident that this squad can handle the 2 or 3 injuries to key players that we will inevitably see.

I'd love to see two up but I'd say we'll be waiting along time, 4-3-3 is the best chance to see them both start but even then playing Mane and Coutinho on the flanks would be more likely.

        I think you are right.

But there may be an instance where we are chasing a game (it could even be the opening game of the season!) and Klopp plays them both and it just works.....

4-4-2 diamond with Sturridge and Origi causing havoc with their movements, and Firmino in the No.10 to finish them off.

We love our diamond! Pity Klopp doesn't as the squad is perfect for that formation.

Sturridge or Origi don't offer enough in terms of working the channels or dropping off to be an effective twosome. They are mutually exclusive as far as i'm concerned unless it is against weaker opposition or in the latter stages of a game.

Good to have options though with Ings probably more capable of being a partner.

                  Origi doesn't work the channels?!

Sturridge also plays most of his game on the right wing trying to isolate the LCB.

                    Odd comment.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Offensively both do, but it doesn't offer enough balance.

Same for England as well, I wouldn't dream of playing sturridge anywhere apart from through the center on the shoulder - same as Origi.

                        Vs. Roma:

Manninger - Clyne Lovren Klavan Milner (c) - Can Wijnaldum - Ojo Mane Firmino - Sturridge

Very attacking side. Can't wait to see Manninger in action

Mignolet, George, Alexander-Arnold, Randall, Wisdom, Moreno, Stewart, Henderson, Brannagan, Lallana, Coutinho, Marković, Benteke, Ings

Grujic nurtured back to mental health, Ejaria injured too. First game back for benteke and Can.
Not sure where Origi might be.

Divock Origi has been left out of Liverpool's clash with Roma in St Louis due to a tight groin.

The Reds are confident it's only a minor problem but are taking no chances with the Belgium international striker, who lit up Saturday night's 2-0 win over AC Milan in Santa Clara.

Marko Grujic is another absentee as the Serbian midfielder continues to recover from the concussion he suffered against Chelsea.

There is also no comeback for centre-back Joel Matip, who has missed all the tour matches due to pain in his foot.
