It pissed me off less then because I couldn't watch it. But if I had seen it then I'd have been pissed off. That's consistency for you.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWe were often poor in pre-season games even back in our heyday.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

But it was our heyday, so a lot less concerning for fans i expect.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWe were often poor in pre-season games even back in our heyday.
What has surprised me today most, is the players lack of intent to prove themselves to the manager, a manager named Jurgen Klopp too.

Not really sure, but a bit better than that. Did you think we played well?Originally posted by G View PostWe played a game 18 hours after a previous game with a much changed team most of whom won't be near the first 11. No we were awful but we played a tough match yesterday, most of those in the squad today were involved yesterday and had to travel aswell. And lots of others aren't first choice. And its pre season.Originally posted by Venton View PostNot really sure, but a bit better than that. Did you think we played well?
In short, today mattered every bit as much as yesterday, i.e. not much.

That and playing two games back to back. A stupid idea and one that I trust will not be entertained again. I knew they should have split the squad and said as much week ago.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostMind set innit, perceived greatness and wanting to beat it.
Yesterday mattered more to our players than it did Barca's, and it showed, just as today mattered more to Mainz.
Just the natural order of things.

Lovren was on the bench today. Klopp says Grujic's ankle injury isnt serious, nothing to worry about. Studge.......well there's just no telling......Originally posted by BigChief View PostSo anyone have the latest on our injuries to Lovren, Grujic and Sturridge? Lovren's the most critical for next week.
