I can't believe these shouts about him being the worst this or that. Klavan is a £4m back up - he's a perfectly ok 3rd or 4th choice CB. If he plays 5 games a season there is no problem. But because our first choice pair can't stay fit he's played about 20 games. He's had some very good games, and some bad ones. No team has a **** hot 3rd or 4th choice CB, apart from maybe Chelsea - their back up CB, £20m Zouma, played his first game of the season last night. Klavan has played about 20. That's the difference.

He was suppose to be back up but because of our defensive crocks and the Sakho debacle, we have had to rely on him more than we should. He's just not good enough and we are short thin in our squad that we have to look to him as a starter.

January is looking more and more like a total **** up as the season goes on.

It was commented on in the match thread. The fact that Klavan has played as many games is part of the problem. We can't possibly have a good defence when we don't have a CB pairing that plays regular together. A reliable injury-free CB is a must this summer.

Yeah, it's a myth that Gomez is some kind of CB saviour, I've serious reservations (even before his injury) that he'll ever make it here. I reckon he's championship level.

Carrra Sami Agger & Skrtel (when he was half decent) was a very, very solid 4.

£4m nowadays is probably similar to the £1.5m Rafa spent on Krygiakos tho.

Keeper/Centre back/ Centre Back/ Defensive:Holding Mid:CM.

These positions are the bedrock of any successful team, look at Chelsea.

CB's : Cahill/Sideshow Bob
CM: Kante

All have been pretty much ever present all season. Throw in that there main creative player Hazard has had a good season and that they have 320m plus players coming off the bench in Willian and Pedro they even benched Fabregas for a while.

We've had performance issues with our keepers, we've had injuries all season with our preferred CB pairing, and we've had injuries with Henderson to deal with.

We've also had injuries to Lallana, Coutinho and Mane.

I think Klopps tactics are fine, its the players and injuries that have been an issue.

he's a cheap job doer which he has shown he is capable of doing...

the problem we have is Lovren/Matip/Gomez just seem to be in and out all the time and then there is the sakho fall out.

He's made mistakes Klavan, but I don't hold anything against him - all it does is just highlight our weak squad

we all said it back in October - if our starting XI, stayed fit and played every week we'd have walked top four.

Sadly, it's impossible for this - knocks/suspensions/longer injuries/loss of form/****ing **** internationals etc all mean that you need resilient players and then quality players to compete/cover - we have neither.
