I don't hold with this though. The first time stunk the place out v Southampton midweek, and we have Chelsea on Tuesday.

The squad is thin, the first team is not much further ahead than what we saw today and there would have been no time for a first choice team to recover for the Chelsea game. 3 games in a week?

in the big scheme of things if we get top 4 this year i couldnt give a **** about cups as much as i am gutted right now.

It is, but there's every reason we could drop places. We have tough fixtures coming up with our top 4 rivals. Our form is poor and we look out of ideas, energy and mental fortitude. Plus it looks like we won't get the much needed shot in the arm we could by a couple of decent signings. We get into positions we want to be in but never consolidate & therefore lose the position & momentum.

Saying "no way we'll slide further down" & investing nothing but blind faith is exactly what has been the problem with us over the last decade, cos invariably things have ended up as "yes way."

Blind faith? It's not at all. The first part of the season shows that we're better than what we have shown of late. It's not blind faith.
