If we see their line up and it contains Fellaini, then it will show us what we already know - that when it comes down to it, Mourinho is not much more than a Portuguese Tony Pulis - with his ****-house tactics.
If he plays a 2 man center midfield with Fellaini and Pogba - then i will be logging onto betting websites and going all-in on us beating them. When their played that way at home to Man City, it was plainly obvious to me that they had a player that was positionally undisciplined (Pogba) and a headless chicken (Fellaini) both not effecting the game. (I don't think Man City were as good as all the pundits were saying that day). The fact that Mourinho played the same 2 against Watford a week later suggests that he won't admit when he is wrong. And although he has put Herrera in the team now, I think he will be tempted to reinstate Fellaini for the game against us.
Although form kind of goes out the window in a game like this, I think the Anfield atmosphere should be electric. If we can start the game well, then I fancy us to keep them on the back foot.
The potential issues include the fact that our best players (Coutinho and Firmino) will have far to travel back from international duty and the fact that we have a few injuries to contend with in midfield (the most important part of the pitch). We really need to see Henderson come through tonights england match unscathed - because if he doesn't it could result in Milner moving to midfield (not so bad) and consequently his left back place being taken by Moreno (not so good).
United are lucky that France, Holland, Spain (Pgoba, Martial, Blind, Memphis, De Gea, Herrera) played last night, Rooney is out of the England starting line up, Ibra has now retired from international football. So most of their players might end up being fresher than ours. Hopefully the fact that it is on Monday night will negate that from our point of view.
All-in-all, it would be horrible to lose to them. Obviously. But our results away to Arsenal, Chelsea and even Spurs (still gutted we didn't finish them off) mean that we can have a real real go at these lot. If we win, then it helps our momentum in a big way - and makes a big statement. If we lose, or even draw, then you know what, it isn't the end of the world at this stage of the season. It's not like we will be too far from the top of the table and suddenly destined for another season of mid-table mediocrity. And we will have a home game v WBA a few days later to put things right.
One thing for sure though is that with Jurgen Klopp in charge, then the players are very likely to leave every thing they have on the pitch.

If you're desperate and find no other solution I bet you can take a couple of very late national express buses doing late airport runs. Used to do it myself after CL games. You'll not get back until 6am likely though!Originally posted by poorscousertommy View PostNo
Not leaving late enough Monday or early enough Tuesday.
Is it worth looking at publicising for a lift share on Twitter, starting with ticket exchanges, ask a couple of high profile people for retweets etc?Like blood on iron

If you split your ticket as;Originally posted by poorscousertommy View PostIs anyone travelling to this game from in or around the Milton Keynes area?
I can get to the game fine but can't get home after it and the train first thing in the morning is £140
Liverpool to Crewe Anytime Day Single
Crewe to Stafford Anytime Day Single
Stafford to Rugby Off Peak Single
Rugby to Milton Keynes Central Anytime Day Single
And providing your trains STOP at (can't just pass through) those stations, then you can get Liverpool to MK for £56.50 single on the 5.26am train out of Lime Street
Edit: Just looked at this on the National Rail site and you wouldn't even need to change trains, just buy the tickets separately.Last edited by ChesterDave; 12-10-16, 08:37 PM.Football without Origi is nothing

Klopp 'really looking forward' to Man Utd clash
Jürgen Klopp can't wait for his latest taste of the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United having whetted his appetite with last season's Europa League meetings between the sides.
The Reds are back at Anfield on Monday evening for a hotly anticipated Premier League clash with their foes from the other end of the East Lancs Road.
Klopp will be hoping for a repeat of his team's European success against United last term, when a 2-0 win on Merseyside and 1-1 draw at Old Trafford saw LFC through to the quarter-finals.
And he expects a typically raucous atmosphere when Jose Mourinho's team are welcomed again.
“We are really looking forward to what will be a fantastic game at Anfield,” he told the Liverpool Echo, speaking at event in support of the 'Seeing is Believing' campaign.
“Those Europa League games were really nice. Both games were intense and competitive.
“We were better in the first game at Anfield. We had a fantastic atmosphere and the players were inspired by that.
“It was my first time at Old Trafford for the second leg. Maybe people don’t like to hear it, but there was actually quite a good atmosphere there too!
“It changed the game a little bit and it was real proof of what an atmosphere can do. United were on top but we killed that atmosphere with Philippe’s wonderful goal in the 45th minute. From then on it wasn’t that difficult any more. What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
