We didn't play our usual game because of injuries to Lallana, Gini and Can. Once Lallana came and we reverted back to our usual front three, we started creating chances and looked like our normal selves again. You can see now why Klopp was desperate to sign Dahoud, the two roles Lallana and Gini play are critical to the way we play, we need more cover for those positions.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

2 points behind the leaders after the fixtures we've had is ****ing fantastic.

Giggs said before the game that keeping it tight and using long balls to force us into our own half is how they've always played against us and to be honest he's right, I can remember many Ferguson games going like that. He was also right that they come at us second half when the game opened up. The thing he didn't say and the point most of their fans are missing is that United under Mourinho don't do the second part. They'll happily long ball it for the whole game. Also if we were playing badly, which we were last night, a Ferguson team would go for the jugular as soon as it realised we weren't at the races, Mourinhos teams steadfastly stick to the script "don't lose".

Fairly sure the 'Mourinho Masterclass' comment was with a healthy dose of ironyOriginally posted by rudedog View PostFFS, the sky post match analysis was was like stumbling into some warped MUTV production. The whole show barely mentioned LFC and the pundit wrapped things up calling it a "Mourinho masterclass". Utter pish.
**** game against ****, tedious opponents
Lastly, De Gea was easily as bad as Karius (in the THREE GAMES we've seen...) when he first arrived at the scum but this very thread cites him as being world class
LolI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

To be fair......DeGea was doing the business in Spain beforehand as well, so was highly regarded before he joined up with ManU.
Had a ropey start, but has gone onto another level ever since, and is easily in the top 5 keepers in the world (some would narrow that even further) and that's been proven on numerous occasions over the last few seasons. You only had to look at all the whooping and hollering on here when it looked like he was off to Real.
If Karius even approaches that level (of which there is no guarantee of course), we'd be doing extremely well."I will make the boys feel your support"

Haven't mentioned this to Utd fans whooping and high fiving each other, but here is what happened to the build up of this match:
1. Karius is a liability and presented their best opportunity of scoring. Will get better obviously but just talking about this game.
2. Coutinho and Firmino were knackered with the worst international journey out of all 22 players that started. Barring maybe Valencia?
3. Can played but hadn't trained for two days prior because of a recurring back problem
4. Gini was missing
5. Lallana was missing
6. Sturridge started a game he wouldn't have normally because of 5) above
We were at 70% during our peak yesterday. Yet still looked like the team that wanted to win it and should have won it. WBA are in for such a tonking. Whereas the master tactician will draw with Fenerbache and Chelsea having already overused and exhausted Ibra and Pogba. Did anyone notice how much Utd players were panting and puffing? One tit for another.

Agreed on all of that, just pointing out that those worrying about Karius might want to look at De Gea as an example of someone that was highly thought of before they signed, and started off ****e.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostTo be fair......DeGea was doing the business in Spain beforehand as well, so was highly regarded before he joined up with ManU.

Hopefully Karius finds his feet (in more ways than one given some of his kicking) and pushes on.
He's very young for a keeper, which is a huge advantage in his favour, plus he's getting used to a defence which is itself getting used to each other so there's acres of room for improvement.
We know what we have with Mig, even with the improvement he's shown now and then, so Karius deserves his chance to impress this season, so hopefully that'll happen for the lad.
Nice run of clean sheets would do wonders for his confidence."I will make the boys feel your support"

If Mourinho directed Die Hard it'd be 90 minutes of Bruce Willis hiding in a cupboard, then applauding his tactics for not getting shot.

Seeing as Klopp's decided he's going to get a run we should try and get behind him. His quick distribution will be an asset to us when he finds his feet. There was a moment last night when he claimed a ball and then put a quick throw to Henderson in the middle of the pitch where my first thought was "Mignolet would never have done that".
