This whole players need a break is a load of ****e, they really don't. They are paid more than well enough and are easily fit enough to play 90 minutes every other day, ****ing hell they could probably play 90 mins every day and still not feel knackered.

I used to play 120 mins, train with the lads as normal and straight afterwards play another 60 with the work lads and I could honestly play all night and I was nowhere near as fit as some of these cunts.
Why were you playing for 120 minutes?
That rug really tied the room together.

Origi? I haven't seen the game tonight but seeing the possession stats I can see how it panned out. It's a bit worrying as we have plodded a wee bit for the last 3/4 games.
        Are we winning?

I was a tough tackling player who could run all day but players who played at that level (even retired ones) were miles miles better on every level

              The gap is huge
Yeah I guess so, I'm just being a prick but I do believe they could play every day.

I've played against Rushie, Lee Jones and a few others in a charity game and their movement off the ball and fitness levels even for older lads was quality. I was in defence and couldn't get near Rushie.

A lad I know used to play for a local team here in North Wales and they played a Man U select XI years and years back, this lad was a cracking player - left footer. Really good footballer and a fit ****er too, his job was to mark Wes Brown (who was breaking through at the time) and he said he's never played against anyone that good before, said he was quality and he said Wes Brown smashed him in a tackle, rock solid tackler.

60 mins with mates then 60 mins with the lads from work straight after.

Sturridge and Lucas showing what having no legs does to a team. Completely wrecks any plans. Couldn't high press properly and then when Southampton sat deep, had nothing in the speedy gonzales department to get past a man.

Also, I'm not a fan of Can. And tonight showed why we urgently need a proper midfielder to cover for Henderson. I'm not fussed about losing tonight as we'll probably beat them at our place. I'm not even fussed about losing to Utd on Sunday IF it happens. But top four is in danger if we have to keep relying on midfielders that just aren't at the party.

It will be extremely difficult against United. I can't see past a draw at best.

As for Can, he's not good enough. I expect us to baulk the midfield over the summer and he will be surplus soon enough.

Can't see why Lucas gets stick, he did really well considering, he's never been a speed merchant but reads the game brilliantly well and knows how to intercept the ball better than anyone.

We're lacking something up front, looked like we could play possession all day and not score

                        Just like in the cup.

                        Cannot afford it vs manure

                        Klopp'll sort it... I'm sure

A bit harsh that Chris? Some people tend to post to vent their frustration while others are more positive and in fairness to Lec he openly acknowledges the progress being made under Klopp.

I think we just need a couple of new players to keep the team fresh. We're having a great season and it will be a shame if it just fizzles out due to us running out of steam.

Poor night, although I wasn't expecting us to set the world alight with the starting team. Can and Lucas was never going to work unless we dominated the wide areas. Can doesn't move the ball quick enough and our forwards weren't great. We were lucky with that score line and do have a chance to out it right. Just need to ensure it doesn't happen in the league games.
