I think we've found it difficult to repeat games with short time interval between them. Cost us our freshness a bit but I don't think that was why we lost today. We lost today because we were very poor defensively and allowed them in the game with poor mistakes.
    Are we winning?

Concerned about the top 4. Deeply. Don't slate me, have been really poorly and am feeling very glum.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I expect us to pick up form soon but for the league, it's gone now.

Same against Sunderland , because we can't do basic defending we gift goals every game at the back.

Are we gonna get punished for playing matip still? I've been off the radar 2 days.

They had 26% possession and 3 shots on target. How did we lose that??
                    Another MASSIVE game

There's every reason to be worried. We're playing badly and our competitors for fourth are playing better and getting better results.

Also, when Sturridge came on, the service to him was poor. We started to cross more and to be fair we scored from two crosses but we just couldn't get into our passing penetrating game. I think teams have sussed us out and packed that middle bit where we try to play. We lost our patience.

We've not got a strong enough squad or a settled system. We played some fantastic football at the start of the season with a front 3 of Coutinho, Firmino and Mane, with Lallana in midfield, since the injury to Coutinho we haven't been the same, as decent as Origi and Sturridge are in their own right putting them in the team seems to negatively affect others (eg Firmino). I had hoped with Coutinho back in the side and Firmino back playing through the middle we might get back to our old ways, but that was a woeful performance today. Firmino looked better than he has for a while and there were 2 quality goals that have been missing from his game in recent times but the rest of the side were poor today.

I don't think that Lallana is anywhere near as effective when playing in the front 3 as he is when he plays in midfield, I can see why Klopp wants him there but we are effectively making 2 changes when we only need one. Henderson wasn't great today either and Can was poor again I think that we need to go back to a midfield lineup of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Lallana and a front three of Coutinho, Firmino and Origi, until Mane gets back when he can come in for Origi, in an attempt to get back to our best.

Defensively Klavan is a massive step down when he has to come in for Matip or Lovren.

I hope we are exploring options for this window as I really feel like we need a lift from somewhere otherwise I fear our season is going to end with a wimper. It's not about a battle for staying in the title race it's also about the top 4 and we could find ourselves out of it by the end of the weekend.

I would assume because the clearance for Matip only came through late last night so presumably in training he had been preparing with a Lovren-Klavan partnership.

Team struggles when losing two best players shock

Agree that Lallana has been key for us in midfield mind
