Thought we should have started with one of Origi or Sturridge. Obvious that Swansea with the worst defensive record in the league would not come to play but rather stop us playing. We are too predictable in the patient passing, waiting for an opportunity bollocks. We need a bit of variety sometimes, faster pace, bit more width and a few direct long balls into the box when it's needed. I was hoping for Matip to come on after our 2nd goal to replace Klavan or Lovren.

It seems that teams are sitting deep when they play us. Gives us less space to pass & run into. We also cant press as we have seen us do at the start of the season. Maybe teams think best way to beat us is sit deep, hit us on the counter and/or be threatening from set pieces.

There was lots of room in today's man city spurs game as both teams tried to play football.

We need to learn how to play against defensive teams. Practice long range shooting more as we obviously can't walk it in. Full backs need to be able to shoot better IMO ala Riise & Johnson as they'd get a couple of opportunities in space from longer diagonal balls as opposed to more central attackers trying to break down the middle through crowded peno boxes & 2 banks of 4!

Working my way through the Frank plan and will post tomorrow on the game. Atmosphere shocking - people glared at you if you sang - they just expected them to thump them. Shocking at the back, poor team selection and we played in front of them.

              V disappointed.

I have been saying for weeks about teams sitting deep and stopping our press by knocking the ball long and picking up on 2nd balls

Swansea didn't knock it too long today though. They sat deep yes but our press wasn't there so they could play through us

Our attacking play is stagnant and slow. Getting into wide areas is key and we frequently had one flank open but couldn't switch the play quick enough preferring to play pass across slowly. Our 2 goals came from wide areas

We need more pace in the side so if the passing isn't sharp and we are denied space we need to have people who can go past players

We have come a long way but hit a brick wall recently. Some of that is down to the opposition tactics some of it is down to lack of sharpness and this slow plodding Brendan football we revert to but it's made it obvious to me we need to improve the squad hugely

I think the crowd is often sparked by the tempo on the pitch

We've been very sluggish on the pitch recently and that has been reflected in the stands

Yeah deffo need fast strong wide players, one Mane isn't enough. Easy to deny Coutinho his long shots by closing him down and not letting him cut onto his right foot but at least he offers creative passing and work rate too. Need to have a bit more directness about us against teams that play this way against us. Not much of a mark of respect anymore when teams sit back, that's how they now lure us in! Even harder when they score first!

swansea were well drilled at the back.
many teams have had the benefit of tv analysis and umpteen replays to see how we play and how to play against us.
they had two banks of four and were happy to close down the middle of the pitch, but as soon as we went wide they drifted wide [as a unit] and closed us down. really showed how to defend well.

what we lacked is not the obvious ball out wide [again and again] that is still in front of their two banks of four, but a short through ball to split their lines and runners then taking it past the last line of four and cutting it back.

klopp needs to be getting off his arse a bit more and rouse the rabble of tourists. some angry shouting at half asleep players might also help a bit. make the ****ers give a bit more of a **** about whats going on.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Considering how dull and slow we've been the past couple months, I decided to head to a friends and watch some horror films. Glad I did.

Was really happy to see Firmino play like a world class player. He's really happy with Coutinho returning. I can see us beating teams that don't sit back, i.e. Chelsea and Spurs. Even without Mane.
                          One tit for another.

And yet the goals we scored came from wide areas

They didn't shift across that quickly it's just our play was so slow

First half we got Clyne in a couple of times but he either failed to deliver a ball or didn't have the pace to take it on

Klopp was sat on the bench the entire first half. He wasn't even in the technical area

Game has become so much about pace now it's a huge huge factor in the game

None of the back 5 would have rated above a 5 imo. Same with Can & Hendo. Wiji Lallana & Couts maybe a 6 & then Firmino with an 8. Terrible performance & just as bad from our subs.

                                Thought Wijnaldum was terrible

Firmino played well and Lallana & Coutinho were ok

                                Rest were poor
