really pissed of at the way thing went yesterday, and against united for that matter. we were naive both times and we need to add a bit of nastiness to our game, be it a few cynical foul in midfied to brake up counter attacks or just pressuring the refs. we need it, we're not gonna win much playing it nice.

but looking at the big picture, where we were just over a year ago, and are now pissed off at slightly losing touch with first spot, i think we're in a good position to succed in the long term, but we need to add some quality and experience to the team.

I don't think it's just slightly losing touch with first spot, I think we are now in a tough fight for top four and without an upturn in form very soon we could lose touch with it. But yes, it's disappointing that we haven't been able to keep over performing as we did in the first half of the season, we are now where we probably realistically hoped to be at the start of the season, but our trajectory is in the wrong direction and we have to reverse that quickly to avoid a disappointing season.

We miss Mane so much. Just like at home to ****in Plymouth, we don't have an attacking player that can beat a man. If we had a Carroll, Benteke or Lukaku playing yesterday then we would have won because we put some great balls into the box yesterday. Pity we didnt have any striker in there.

The defense was a joke as well.

One final point - if on the offchance the guy in the main stand, row number 15, seat number 248, is on this forum - then know this: you're a stupid ****ing cockney ****** mate.
Surely any self respecting self proclaimed tank should be telling that to his face?
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

No wonder so many good posters have ****ed off. I remember you taking offence to what G said but he was spot on.

But Mane offers that extra option, unpredictability and pace, we desperately need another player like him, preferably someone who can play upfront too, a more agile midfielder and a central defender to partner Matip.

This team is clearly a work in progress but at least we can see the progress
The team is a work in progress but looked mustard when we had Mane in it , we revert to previous seasons football when he isn't here.

Thus i would say we deffo need another signing like Mane who can change the pace of the game in an instant.

Traore at Boro looks that type of player , Ox at Arsenal does , think someone like that needs to be a signing in the summer , would love one now but not sure we can get anyone.

Yeah, that midfield three, i.e. without Lallana doesn't work. Nothing against individual players but they don't suit each other, too similar and the obvious call to drop Can from it and pull Lallana into it. And keep him there.

Teams seem to be playing the percentages against us. Defend centrally and allow our full backs to attack. Mane helps with our width but we clearly struggle without him.

Chelsea is a big game to keep us in the top four.

It was very obvious that Swansea let our full backs have the ball yesterday, they funnelled us out wide and if any of our dangerous players picked the ball up in midfield they swarmed them. The way we play means are fullbacks see a lot of the ball and I am a big Clyne fan but his use of the ball yesterday wasn't great. To be fair to him and Milner though they didn't have much options because nobody ever seemed to be ahead of them so it was a bad cross or pass back and start again.

The 3 in midfield DO work but not at home to Swansea, none of them carries the ball or passes between the lines well. This is an area we need to strengthen badly - Parades and it Dahoud would address those areas.

So have we been 'found out' at home? Do we need a very different approach now?
