It's like last year I think you were telling us Benteke was much maligned and would do great when he went elsewhere

He's still **** and lazy and never in the box
I've been trying to convince myself that Benteke would come good, but I was wrong. He's ****e and six months at Palace kind of proved it. I don't mind accepting it.

As for the rest, I'm convinced I'm right.

    Possession and purpose is key.
    Are we winning?

Although very disappointing today, I think today will be a watershed, nadir for Klopp. A big positive can come out of today, where previous managers might have papered over the obvious cracks.

Klopp is a fantastic manager and ideal for us but only weakness has been in my opinion, a bit of over confidence, over optimism whether that's the defence being good enough or the goalkeeper or switching players around too much ala Lallana, Firmino or leaving Matip out today and still expecting to win.

It's a real shame we're unlikely to win it this year but you never know. We're still in the chasing pack but it's Chelsea's to throw away now, which can happen - a couple of draws, a couple of defeats .....

After this performance, Klopp will hopefully be more ruthless and get the quality we need in key positions just like he did with Mane, Matip etc. I'm sure he knows what we need and can probably see it some of the youngsters but we need it now not in 3 years. I'm talking first team quality and goalie, defence is the priority. Klavan is back up at best and right now Gomez needs promoting or just ****ing splash £60m on Van Diljk. We have the bloody cash.

Just wanted to day also, the atmosphere today seemed terrible! So quiet, like a prawn ****ing sandwich brigade on a massive coach party day out. I struggle to get a ticket nowadays with young kids etc. but would out sing most lame 'entertain me' fans every week, it's so frustrating. Go to Anfield and sing your heart out and shout your support especially when you can see the team struggling to prise a opening. It can make the difference!

Yeh man, winning the game without the ball

Possession is important and has been a staple of all the great Liverpool teams of the past. 100% is not feasible not sure why you think it is what Rodgers preached. Fact is that more possession and the ability to control a game of football having the ball, wins you games more than not.

Pressing is important but the more you do it means you are under the influence of the other team. The quicker you regain possession (as in counter pressing under Klopp's terms) the better and we haven't been good at it lately.

I'm a bit drunk to be honest, so I'll call it quits.

We can resume this whenever you like though.
As usual with this site you make a comment and it's immediately taken to the extreme

I am not say don't have possession but the large volumes we are having where we pass the ball slowly, sideways and backwards isnt the right possession to have

You have to have the ability to change up the tempo and pace and we haven't been doing that anywhere enough recently and that shows from the amount of goals we are scoring and games we aren't winning

The opposing team let us have posession with our weaker players on the ball , soon as it goes near Cout or Firmino they are on them like a flash,

All day long the midfield three can have the ball around the half way line and not go anywhere.

After watching the game felt like we only needed two of them today , with Origi or sturridge on the pitch.

The back five long term isnt good enough , out of them all who would you keep ? Clyne and Milner.

For me the pressing and high tempo go together, recently we haven't been playing at a high tempo and pressing alot, and despite having alot of possession we haven't really created that many chances, yesterday how many times did we work the keeper? - I can't remember many occasions and the same applies to many of our recent games. The pressing forces us into a tempo. It's almost as if the pressing gives us a purpose and without it we don't know what to do.

Perhaps the most frustrating thing for me is that in games where we are losing (or not winning) we haven't been upping the tempo and creating wave after wave of attacks in the final 10 mins.

I wouldn't call you anything to be fair, I can't remember ever seeing you post about football. 8 or 9k of your posts are probably about me and as usual you've said nothing about the actual game. No wonder so many good posters have ****ed off. I remember you taking offence to what G said but he was spot on.

Good point, I think we are missing Mane more than we realise, it's easier to shut us down when he's missing, also Matip is effectively like an extra midfielder sometimes.

But Mane offers that extra option, unpredictability and pace, we desperately need another player like him, preferably someone who can play upfront too, a more agile midfielder and a central defender to partner Matip.

This team is clearly a work in progress but at least we can see the progress
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Klopp messed up. No point in playing that midfield against a team that puts 11 men behind the ball.

We miss Mane so much. Just like at home to ****in Plymouth, we don't have an attacking player that can beat a man. If we had a Carroll, Benteke or Lukaku playing yesterday then we would have won because we put some great balls into the box yesterday. Pity we didnt have any striker in there.

The defense was a joke as well.

One final point - if on the offchance the guy in the main stand, row number 15, seat number 248, is on this forum - then know this: you're a stupid ****ing cockney ****** mate.
