Now the title is gone and no trophies to win we are left with a fight to secure a top four place. Brilliant. Exciting times. I guess champions league will help us buy better players? Remind me how that worked out last time. Money, **** loads of money gets you the best player's. TV rights are worth way more than champions league funds. We don't want to spend. It's wenger like.

Lets see what we do in the summer, as far as I am concerned our business last summer made sense if you put it in the context of not having European football (therefore needing less players) assuming that you make the CL this season and spend big on players that you would only be able to get if you are in the CL (or pay stupid wages which we aren't going to do).

Football as fan should be purely about trying to win things. You certainly have no given right to, nor will you always be able to, but the main goal should always be lifting some silverware. Getting close can be fun, it can be heartbreaking, but making up the numbers is not what being a Liverpool fan has ever been about.

In what way are we making up the numbers? We've had two cup finals in under a year, another semi final and are still part of the chasing pack in an unlikely title race.

Top 4 is more important than the FA Cup and League Cup combined. Yes it's a nightmare we got knocked out of both in the same week but we have more important things to worry abut. This season IMO top 4 is and was always the main goal. Never believed for a second we would win the league but we are in with a shout for the top 4. Every game is a must win game from now on in.

It can be hard to stomach for a club that used to win things to accept 'only' CL football but we are in a process of improvement now. I can see it and although I am impatient I can wait.

Anyone who can't see the progress we are making and isn't excited about the next few years under Klopp expects too much. We have only finished in the top 4 once in the past 8 years or so!

There is no question that we are making progress.

I'm sure winning trophies is top of everyone's agenda - the problem is all the other teams want to win them also...!

I believe we will get there, the recent blip aside I've enjoyed the progress made over the last 18 months.

n my deluded head i believe we have some mega money offers in the summer for players of the quality of Brandt, Reus Etc they will only come if we get top 4 as we wont be paying the wages to compensate not being in the CL as per scum.
