thing is - it's just not going to happen - I've not seen anything from Klopp or the club/owners to suggest we have any notion of putting something like the above into action

Although I don't disagree that we need a few new players, I think that our problems are more than that. We still have better players than Leicester City. We also had a 2 week break to prepare for this game. So although yes we need more players, that is no excuse for last night. Or for against Sunderland, Swansea, Hull, Bournemouth in recent months. We have better players than all of these teams.

For me, we need tactical nous. We need to play brilliant to win a game. Otherwise we lose. And no team can keep brilliant form for a whole season. It just isn't possible.

A top team last night would have recognized that Leicester were up for it. The crowd were up for it. A top team would have killed the first half, let Leicester run out of steam and waited for our time to be on top. But no - we played a high line, and let them build a head of steam. We just don't know how to kill a game.

totally agree with those points too frank

which points too one of two things

1 - The manager and staff didn't recognise their threat or didn't care about their threat, didn't motivate the players and didn't think about any tactics or game plan

2 - or he did, but the players couldn't be arsed listening to him and did their own thing and they don't really care.

Both scenarios are frightening and worryingly you could say it's prob a mixture of the two

Both good points. To be 3-0 down against a team that was in disarray a week ago is just mind-blowing. Shocking preparation.

Though Klopp is not interested in going after the mega bucks superstars, I'd say this season highlights that he is capable of getting it very right, and that he needs to be backed in the market to bring in the players he wants.

Its his first full season with a preseason and transfer window, I hope the ultimate vision is long term with him. I believe we are very lucky to have him.

                  CB
                  LB
                  Goalie

As if Klopp and Fsg weren't aware of what we need......What was done to address the goalkeeping issue? Mignolet was given a new contract and a cheap unknown gk was signed,LB nothing Milner still there,CB?Matip bought in while Sakho shipped out and still the defence is a shambles if anything Klop should have tried out a Matip/Sakho pairing,CM ? Can and henderson in that spot,And well who are we going to sign and when and how to do you entice a top player to the club? We can't and won't.Can you see LFC for eg signing Van Dijk? at £40-45 million highly doubt it.

yeah it doesn't have to be superstars - i'm not expecting us to go out an sign Nueur, Alaba, Kante, Messi and Ronaldo or anything

But we (when I say we I mean klopp/fsg) need to be prepared to spend the money required.....if Klopp knows which left back it is he wants...we have to go and get him - if Klopp thinks he's only worth £10m but the selling club want £15m - we either find another £10m left back, accept we have to pay the £15m for him, or if we are prepared to pay the £15m, see if there is another left back for that money that is better.

Don't just go well there is no value there so we won't sign anyone.

the market is **** - but we've got to accept that's the case and crack on.

Just off the top off my head - we have to be prepared to go

                        GK - up to £25m
                        LB - up to £20m
                        Cb - up to £25m
                        Cm - up to £40m
                        CF - up to £50m.

Obviously, we might find a lb we want for 10m or a striker for £30m etc - but in my eyes that's rough figures of what we should be looking at spending in the summer - £160m or so on the right players in the right positions will sort this side out.

If FSG aren't prepared to do so or Klopp doesn't want to it - well i'd rather they just came out and said - sorry guys....this is all we can do money wise - forget about challenging, so what we are going to do is develop a team of 11 scousers through the academy, we won't ever be consistent winners but at least we will have a team we will all get behind and enjoy watching and every now and then we pick up a trophy of some description

Great points mate , we do not know how to win ugly.

When things are going well we look like the best team in the league , when teams fight us differently , no players step up and be counted.

It really has been a worst case scenario the way things have panned out but we missed a trick when we were second in December. In any line of work or business, if things are going well, you don't rest on your laurels and in fact try to advance to gain even more of an advantage over the competition. PSG went and purchased Draxler in Jan and low and behold he gets two against Barca. That's what I've been taught anyway.

It's difficult to get the right player in but, if the intention is there, it can still work in bringing a positive influence into the side. I don't think we were even looking in Jan and our players now have become too complacent.

the second Vardy hit Mane hard in the first minute the whole team **** their pants.

Wouldn't have happened with a Gerrard/Mascherano/Hyppia/Carragher/Suarez in the side - a leader who would said right you *******s have one back, you want to get stuck in, so will I.

We are a team of fannies. Who scares you in that side? - If I was a pro, i'd be licking my lips playing against Liverpool - ball is bobbling towards you, difficult to control etc, but you wouldn't be arsed because you know no-ones coming in and smashing u up.

Don't think FSG will sanction signings at £40 million and above and Klopp has gone on record to say he won't pay silly money and he knows he has to work within a budget.Problem these days is transfer fees are absurd.
