Firmino has looked knackered the last few weeks and Wijnaldum has been poor the last few also imo

Thought both of them were passengers last night

Anyone else notice Wijnaldum getting a proper shove during the Can celebrations?

The game was poor but Watford were some defensive team. They set up like they were playing at Anfield. Pretty pathetic really.

For me, the unavailability of Mane - through African Cup and then injury - has been the biggest hit to our team this season. He is the one that can get to the edge of the box and instead of passing it sideways, he can take a defender on, win a 6 yard race, run into the box and create havoc. I think a speedy guy like him on the other side will make the most difference to our team - and possibly allowing Coutinho to play a little deeper.

Hopefully we can push this season over the line, add a little bit of what we need in the summer and go again next season with a little bit extra. Our of all of the top 6 teams in the league, i think it is us and United that can improve most. It would be funny if United get beaten by Celta Vigo and finish the season poorly - but next season they would be stronger if they are not in the CL. I think they will big time go for the league next year if they are out of CL. But Liverpool can improve a little bit both defensively and attacking-wise - and with a bit strenght in depth, we can have a good go at next season.

What is a little disappointing is that although we are all thinking "win 2 of the last 3 and we should have top 4 pretty much guaranteed", in reality we should be in the driving seat for 3rd. The 5 points dropped at home to Palace and Bournemouth are a right pain in the arse.

Hopefully we finish the job, but it has to said, this has been a really difficult season, the injuries we've had are ridiculous. If we get over the line and get CL, we have to hope that Klopp and FSG have learnt something from this fiasco and spend during this summer and keep up spending the summer after also, and use the winter window if needed. Klopp still has a lot to learn really, clearly a massive difference in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, just ask Pep
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

it could be said that while Klopp has a lot to learn, to get 3rd or 4th in the circumstances he has done a pretty fab job!!! What more could have been expected from this season?

did you expect us to to piss top 4 this year? most people had written us off.

Mane has been a huge loss whenever he has been out, but the bigger hit to the team for me is the fact that we have no other player that offers genuine pace and directness. We are relying on one player to provide it and have nobody at all that can provide the same or similar threat when in the same team as Mane or instead of Mane when Mane is out.

Yeah not sure what Klopp was doing there either other than saying get out on the pitch & get ready

Can't disagree with that although Bobby is just as likely to get MOTM against Southampton. He's been up & down a bit lately but he's such a smart player & played out of position once Cout went off. Better centrally but when Div plays he gets shunted out wide.

I do agree Klopp has done a top job, but despite the top 6 being so strong we always had the upper hand in the sense that City were getting a new manager with a new style (but the same old **** players lol) and Utd were getting a soul destroying one. Their first season hiccups and our lack of Europe would give us the advantage over them. Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal have surprised me obviously for different reasons.

Top 4 is always what we needed and Klopp has achieved that. But we need to strengthen or we'll be back in the wilderness now that the above managers and teams have had time to settle.

Think it was Dom who alluded to it in a previous thread but there is always that excuse that this is the year for top 4 and next season will be too hard.

I actually think next year might be easier than this year

Scum - **** manager, bunch of cunts
Arsenal - now a **** manager, bunch of fannies
City & Chelsea = potentially get stronger and top 2 will be hard to breach
Spurs - Off to Wembley, dont pay decent wages some players may go this summer.
Everton - despite promising to spend 1billion this summer, i expect them to start next season with Gestede and jermain Defoe.

Everyone loves to write Spurs off but I think they'll be there or thereabouts again next season providing they keep Kane Alli and Pochetino

Tbh. I only think they need to keep the later, the former two are easier to replace.
