Honourable mentions to Denis Irwin, Phillip Lahm, Ashley Cole and Zambrotta
Nicol and Lahm I regard more as right backs even though both did play at LB as well. Do regard Nicol as our best ever RB though.
Irwin, Cole and Zambrotta were all great players but would rate Robertson as being better and Irwin I cannot really say either for fear of being accused of playing favourites given he is from Cork Cork Cork, boy.

I Don't begrudge him wanting to leave for regular football, but is he getting that at Spurs? He's not the player he was a few years ago, though who knows whether that's down to the manager. Most of our genuinely world class players look a shadow of their former selves, tho they are of course getting on a bit
If he goes to Spurs to compete with Udogie, why doesn't he stay and compete with Kerkez?I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

If you get free tickets ask no questions.Originally posted by leftpeg View PostSpeaking of all timers, my parents went on the Anfield tour some years back, hosted by none other than Phil Neal. Sounds like Phil got pretty flirty with my Mum. A few years later, my mum got divorced and moved back to England. Coincidence?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

This might well be sarcasm but a Slot team seems to be perfect for someone that doesn't need to aggressively press opponentsOriginally posted by Charly View PostHis legs slowed a couple of years ago. He hasnt got the legs for a Slot team now.
People have to accept that past 30 your days are numbered at the very top in the modern game where fitness levels are riffculous
We're so timid, is that by design or is it that our players don't have the fitness for it?I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I doubt he's leaving because he wants to play more. He'd have to pick a fairly lower league or team to not be second choice by default. He could have stayed, played a third of the games in a season, and many others as a sub. Probably better than he'll get elsewhere. Slots drained him. I'll be shocked if there arent a couple more surprise departures. I'm dreading Dom deciding to go elsewhere if Slot stays.

I think Jota's passing is also a reason to move; there are too many reminders at the club for him to handle on a daily basis I think (Robbo strikes me as the sort of person who can be quite emotion led at times), so that and the lack of playing time mean it's a perfect storm for him to move.Originally posted by vlahka View PostI doubt he's leaving because he wants to play more. Think it is the main reason. He and Kelleher were the first teamers at the main ceremony and both were particularly close to him.Originally posted by Scratch View PostI think Jota's passing is also a reason to move; there are too many reminders at the club for him to handle on a daily basis I think (Robbo strikes me as the sort of person who can be quite emotion led at times), so that and the lack of playing time mean it's a perfect storm for him to move.
We saw how Robertson choked up in that interview after the Scottish game and spoke about Jota and we also heard Kelleher's comments about it.
Think if Jota have not been in that accident and was still about today that Robertson might have asked about a contract extension. He strikes me as a guy that wants to play but that is also very realistic about his own powers being on the wane and as such would be the sort of pro that accepts less game time if it meant the game time he did get allowed him to be at the best level his body would allow.I don't hate people. Wonder if he's regretting agreeing to go to Spurs..."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
