The Newcastle game would have been perfect for Robertson. They played narrow, sat deep and invited crosses. But it was Moreno overhitting or just missing altogether whomever we had waiting in the box. Makes no sense to me why we would sign a player and then don't play him - especially when the circumstances say he should be playing ffs. Baffling.

Almost as bafflingly as not buying players we needed badly - some odd decisions this season.

Surely not a surprise re Milner. All our midfielders are in effect central midfielders and he is not good enough in that role.

I'm a fan of his for now but he didn't look great against Slovenia. A bit of pressure and he was looking shaky in the second half. But internationals are **** anyway so I hope he gets a chance in our first XI.

Don't know much about Robertson to be honest but severe lack of game time, same as Ox and Sturridge will have a huge impact on any players game.

He's been unlucky. He hasn't done anything wrong, but Moreno has got in ahead of him and played really well.

Personally I think Moreno could have been rested for the odd game, but apart from that all he can do is keep waiting for his chance to come.

It's great to finally have competition for places at LB for once.

he probably thought he’d walk straight into the starting X1 once Milner stated he didn’t want to play at LB & the poor season that Moreno had last season.
