Robbo is not a viable CB either way imo. He's been bad at it when called upon. I'd rather see Endo there tbh.

          100%

I find it hard on here how cold harder and pragmatic people are in dismissing players that have offered so much. Like we are sat at some board room table making decsisions.

Football is all about heart for me, when I played when I support, I’m invested in the players that delivered and find it hard when these things come to an end. I think that’s ok. I think that’s normal. I think that’s why I have passion for the team when so many of those who wore the shirt mean so much.

          This resonated with me.

I think the days of me getting emotionally attached to players are over. I’m 45 this year. Andy Robertson doesn’t know me, he didn’t wake up this morning thinking about me, and he won’t be pining for me. Let’s be honest with ourselves. He’ll be driving this move as much as anyone.

The club have made it clear they’re not actively looking to sell, but if this happens it’ll be because it suits him too. Yes, he’s arguably our best ever left-back, a textbook professional, a brilliant teammate, and an outstanding servant to the club both on and off the pitch.

But he’ll be walking away with millions in the bank, chasing one last big payday. Let’s not kid ourselves otherwise. His days here were always numbered. I’m more than happy to start the refresh a little earlier, and I genuinely think the club will benefit from having one less transition to deal with in the summer.

Agree but for me it just leaves us short again, Tsimi can be back up LB but we thought he wasn’t good enough in the summer and mad as it sounds Robbo is also CB cover where we are very thin

Yeah I love the game of football but getting emotionally attached to players these days is not a thing that happens to me. He flourished at LFC, we made him and he gave everything in the jersey it was a great relationship. Now his best days are way behind him, still a decent LB that could be a starter elsewhere, so I completely understand his desire the move and look after number one. He's also on a huge wage and he's not good enough to be a regular starter at LFC. Once we have cover, I'm not too bothered if he goes best of luck to him elsewhere. You have to be ruthless to be winners, only so much sentiment you can have unfortunately.

I don't think that we didn't think Tsimi was good enough to continue as back up LB in the summer.

Before Tsimi left on loan, we were open to letting Robbo go to Atletico Madrid, which would have meant Tsimi would have been kept as our rotation at LB.

I think the club were pretty flexible on which of the two made room for Kerkez. It was just a case of which one received a suitable offer.

                      Quite.

Timmy has always been underrated here si assumption we really wanted to let him go.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

That’s not what I’m saying at all - I don’t begrudge any player the money fair ****s to them. And every player has to move on eventually. But if you’re not sentimental at all about football then it is cold clinical and transactional as you’ve mentioned above. So taking a second to pause and recognise the contribution of a player who gave a lot is where it’s at for me / I could care less about their bank balance.

This is the end of the first team my kids watched (they are teenagers now) and we’ve spent endless hours discussing and watching Klopp, Salah, Mane, Bobby, Allison, Robbo, Virg, Hendo, Trent, Jota, etc. For me my link to supporting Liverpool is Dalglish - he was my hero as a Scottish kid in the 80’s. If not for him who knows who Id support now.

I think it’s depressing if you don’t find any joy in who plays for us. Sport is all about passion, it doubles as religion for some. And then when new players come I. We celebrate that too right?

If there’s no sense of connection between the players, and the support then it’s absolutely soulless, meaningless and transactional and that may well be exactly where the game is headed.

Based on this lack of passion behind the individual player I’m assuming everyone was just as dispassionate about Trent leaving then, or do we only demonise and never lionise as we get older

                                Well said Buzzo, I concur.

What's the point in supporting a team if you don't get emotionally involved. It's probably a bit silly but the nature of fanaticism is fundamentally irrational.
Part of the fun I think.
