Great result but mess of a performance. So many poor performances. Mane, Mig and Trent were superb. Liverpool wont achieve antrhing with Moreno and Lovren in their 11. Thought Can was good too whilst Hendo and Wini were very poor.

Great result there but lot to he concerned about.

And that goal from him may have earned us a few million so lots to look forward to.
Bloody hell, he's 18. He will make mistakes. Lovren has made a career out of them. We need clyne as its a long season. Expect them to play plenty of games.

Electric. Wasn't quite on it tonight and still such a threat. He'll score a bundle for us.

Mane caused them no end of problems there and we delt relatively well against set pieces. They were a very strong very organised team with plenty of leaders. A massive test for anyone to go there and win. Considering we had a barage of abuse on saturday (rightly so) our artitude and confidence was good. We should be very happy with this result. I'm so happy for TAA to get his goal and he done well for the most, a tough test for him there with Hoffenheim trying to catch him out. His positioning was good for the majority of the game (the goal I know). I thought we soaked up the pressure well in the second half and it could have been 3 if the referee hadn't allowed play in from the transition (situations we work so hard on)

            Copied to here.

I'm starting to have concerns too but we do leave him exposed a lot of the time and he's got a ****ing idiot next to him. I guess we'd find out if it's personnel or set up if we sign VVD.

Mane looks like he's about to make a huge step up in quality, he seems to have so much confidence in his ability and some of the stuff he tries is ridiculous. He's going to be the nearest thing we could get to Suarez - he's mesmerising to watch.

Great result though. Imagine what the second leg looks like from their point of view.
                    Really?

I wonder if he'll end up as the no.9 for us. He'd be amazing there.

So disappointing to give away such an unnecessary goal (again coming from a bit of comedy defending). At 2-0 it was done and dusted for the second leg. Still are clear favourites to go through but you think at 2-0 we might have been able to push through some transfers (if they are indeed waiting on CL qualification)

Could argue their goal might just give us added focus for the 2nd leg. It's still a proper contest - at 2-0 it was over.

Good result but Moreno, Lovren, Hendo and Gini need improving upon.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Old football cliche but the first goal will be important in the home leg (with the away goals).

At one point he was through the centre and I thought it was a switch but it only lasted 5mins. I'm a bit torn, he's good enough to play anywhere but maybe he's more effective on the wing.

Like I said in another thread, later in the season I'd like to see more interchanging from the front line.
