One other observation - Mane & Salah are brilliant but did anyone think Salah on the right hampered us a few times when he didn't get to hit it on his left?

They were the better team overall. Got to be happy to come away with a lead.

I reckon he's still slightly inhibited and nervous about his decision making. When he's at full pelt and not giving a **** he'll be a right handful.

Manolas, de Vrij, Garay or anyone else should be looked at. Surely there are other capable players available.

On this point, Klopp should look at Markovic as a backup option if he can't be sold. Perhaps he could fit in and do a job with a few minutes here and there. Don't think he's the right kind of player for Klopp but could prove to be useful if given the opportunity. I don't think he was named in the Premier League squad, I may be mistaken. Probably will end up being loaned out on deadline day.
Seems like little chance of that. Has Klopp played him at any time - even in a friendly? Has he even seen him in training? It's almost as though he just looked at him and thought - nah. Seriously to be that ignored is quite special. Really can't see a way back which must be a little galling for the lad ...getting paid £20k per week...
          Really?

Great result there but lot to he concerned about.
TAA put in a great shift offensively but defensively he was not convincing.

Was not at all great in the air, but then neither was any other white shirt on the pitch tonight.

The team are not playing to their potential, I've seen that group of players perform far better which makes me think it's more a matter of confidence than anything else.

There is definitely room for improvement but they are not as poor as that actual performance would suggest. The result is great though.

Yes he needs to work on his right foot or learn a bit from mane about beating a man infront of you. He doesn't seem fully confident yet. Mane runs through people with ease. Like Suarez he just bounces the ball off them to his advantage.

Our current enigma. If we had any realistic options he'd be coming out of the side, and when Lallana is back he will be. Until then, what do we do? Grujic?

Yeah Salah, for his second competitive game, has been excellent and really getting involved.

Would've scored again had Milner's cross not been deflected in. He takes up fantastic positions. 2nd game ffs. He's going to be a legend here.

Our midfield underperformed today with the exception of Can maybe who was okay. I wouldn't trust Grujic to be consistent a whole game, but he'll get his chance.
                      Are we winning?

I think he will be superb, you can see it right from the off but if he had two of the chances tonight on his left I reckon he would have scored them both.

V positive start though - just need Phil back threading the ball through to them

Surely Phil was watching and must be itching to play in the second leg

Yep, the amount of touches is shocking for a CM and it's a common theme with him.

Wor Emre was our best midfielder by a mile again, this contract situation is ridiculous, **** knows whats going on. Not sure how we can be giving the likes of Lovren 120k but cant sort something here. Very strange.
