Methinks the impact of Jones on things like turnovers, press effectiveness against us, ball retention etc have gone under the radar somewhat.

Jones is showing the difference an improvement in midfield can have on the rest of the team as it buys a litle more time for everyone else to do their stuff as a higher level, now imagine two or three midfielders that are better than Jones being added and the impact they would have on turn overs, press resistence etc and what that would do for our attack and back line.
this is spot on. Although i'm not a huge fan of Jones, I certainly recognise the energy & dare I say it, enthusiasm he has brought to the midfield. Would would be smashing the life out of teams if we had 3 top lads in there.

My impression is that Jones is very good at keeping the ball. He doesn’t necessarily play adventurous or quick passes or take players on, but if he receives the ball, even in tight spaces, he finds a way of keeping possession and finding a Liverpool player. I think the likes of salah know that it’s worth making a run or pushing forward when he gets the ball because they’re not going to need to immediately turn around and defend.

What Gini did essentially……. Clearly a tiny sample size but CJ has been v good in this mini run. He’s won the most duels in that time also - he has the same technical ability as Harvey E but he is much much taller and stronger!

Weird. It was hardly unexpected. Chin up Mo, we go again.

                You think so???

His numbers have been brilliant this season but it will be interesting to see what would happen if we were offered big cash for salah. Possibly PSG maybe??

He's seen how we treat our legends and how others have fared since they've left, he'd be mad to leave.

His numbers have been good but we've all seen how ineffective he has been in a number of the games for a decent portion of the season. For large parts he's been poor, running into people, failing to beat anyone, missing awful penalties and is culpable along with the rest of the team for the position we find ourselves. I think 5th flatters us.

He won't leave. I just hope he's rotated a little more to keep things fresh. If we keep all 5 up top we have great options.

Nah - I think he feels they let the club, the fans and themselves down. I’m ok with that and yes his overall performance might be down but he still put up huge numbers

Who knows what happens with Salah this summer, and if a club decides to test the waters.

Two years left on his deal, and he's going to be 31 in the summer, playing in the Europa League, with potentially 3 oil state backed clubs in the league next year.

Whether he stays or goes, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Nah, we’d be hearing way more about it if he was off knowing his agent.

He is just gutted, I think that’s absolutely great to see.

Think it is early days yet with regards to his agent if a potential move is on the cards.

Still going with my gut feeling from some months back about PSG. Messi and Neymar being on their ways out only adds to that for me.

100% agree on your second point. His ego as an out and out winner has been hurt by this season, and if he is still with us next season I fully expect his goal and assists tallies to be even higher than this season as a direct result. The man is driven to achieve as an individual and as a member of a team.

His message seems clear enough. I/WE failed, now I/WE need to win again.
