Salah was good tonight. Inches from a hat-trick with the curling shot annd hitting the post - and Hugo should have buried that cross. Got rough housed and gave the ball up a couple of times but a return to form.

His goal was brilliant. The strength to hold of three defenders… write him off at your peril!

I'm sure when he's 65 and only scoring 20 goals a season, the 'I told you so's' will finally hold some weight.

He goal was great but what was overlooked was that Isak positioning had him in for a tap in. He'll have to learn quickly that Mo in those positions rarely passes.

Don't know what my point is, basically the bread and butter tap ins that Isak does may have to come from elsewhere.

Isak will be there to hoover up any saves and deflections.

Equally - the number of assists Salah provided last season will equally mean he is picking his lips. Salah’s creativity seemed to have returned last night played a lot of useful balls in one out side of the foot that Hugo nearly got on the end off (arguably should have left for Wirtz and the ball that Hugo should have buried at the end).

The main thing for me is that now Salah doesn’t need to be the dominant creative force.

It was decent strength, but if you take away the goal, then it was usual **** Salah. Could have easily did a few keep-ups or at least baked Oblak a cake on his way into the box.
