Back to a proper 3 in midfield then the front three can be Ekitike as the 9 with Wirtz and Chiesa or Gakpo on either side. Use Salah off the bench but upfront. Just let him be in the box to finish off any chances.

When Isak is back Ekitike can spend some time in one of the wide roles. Isak as the 9 with Ekitike and Wirtz playing narrow and the fullbacks playing to their strengths offering width. Have a strong midfield with three of Jones, Alexis, Dom, Gravenberch and Endo who will give the team that gritty defensive work the midfield is missing at the moment.

We need more of that type of attitude not just in moments but across the performance from the entire team.
yup we lack a mean streak and fight. That Klopp press is missed sorely, I gets the players and the fans pumped. We are too easy to play against, let's not be that.

He's still an elite finisher for sure, it's everything else in his game that has dropped off a cliff. He can't beat a man, doesn't track back and his crossing has been awful, so it actually might be the shout if we 'have' to play him, play him in a two and get some legs out there that can get up and down the flanks, helping the defence but also getting some service into the forwards.

    Does anyone know if Slot has ever played a 4 4 2 or a 3 5 2?

I was behind and above the goal so had a clear view of Salah in the second half. The defender had him tied up all night. There was no need for a midfielder to drop and help the defender which resulted in Brentford keeping a spare runner up front for any breaks. The defender didn't punch the air or look unusually impressed with himself each time he stopped Salah, it was all just BAU for him.

I was sucking the ball in from Salah's feet so he wouldn't cut back to his left, but he never meaningfully went to the line. Which is fine if he actually did anything meaningful with his left.

To my mind it's clear now that Mo has to work out, whatever his form issues are, from the bench. Wirtz or Fede from the right make much more sense from an all-round play perspective. He won't like it but we are LFC no MO-FC.

LOL (means laugh out loud. Im just laughing, out loud

Kerkez was poor, but by Salah Law he had a decent game as he scored a goal which counteracts all the bad. These are the forum and social media rules, I didn't make them up, I don't agree with them at all. But it is the way.

I’m not so old I don’t get this internet vernacular!

I did think it was ‘lots of love’ for a second, but that didn’t seem to fit your style.

Predominantly Salah has played with Trent - Bradley made 17 league appearances last season. 11 the season before. A number of these from the bench.

The attempt to devalue Salah’s 29 goals and 17 assists in the League last year is ultimately the heart of why this is a futile discussion. You want to pile on the player as it suits your long running agenda - that’s fair enough.

The fact you have to throw in a LOL etc at every post where you think differently is ridiculous. It’s not debate really then is it? It’s you trying to belittle anyone you disagree with. Again your lookout.

But if someone were to say point out that Kerkez was again poor yesterday you’d not be all over the discussion - you’d be all over the person who posted it. Ironically we probably agree broadly across a number of discussions - even some of the nuance of this one - but a post like your one above is virtually impossible to engage with.

The key stat would be to see how effective he has been alongside Bradley in the last 2 seasons compared to this, TAA isn't as relevant comparing his lack of form

I think the time has come for Mo to be an impact sub. Age has caught up with him and his defence/press is non-existent. Just means that we are a man down when the opposition has the ball. Gakpo/Isak/Ekitike would be my front three, and Salah can be used sparingly. Needs to accept that age isn't just a number, not in the world of professional sport.
