Now, I think Mo has started better... but I question that we will see the same perfirmances from him in terms of sheer style and amazement. But I do think he can hit 30 a season regularly if he can become a bit more clinical... although even at hus cyrrent rate he should still hit the 30s.

Im undecided on the merits of Firmino, but if he can click with bith Mane and Salah over the season and rhey all hit 20+ goal, I think we can stop panicing about needing a new striker and focus on the defence and how the midfield protects it.

I don't think anyone was panicking about a lack of a striker in the squad. Look back to the summer, most were rightly worried about the defensive recruitment options. That's still the priority.

That said, Sturridge needs to be replaced and has done for years. I reckon we'll move him on first (high wages), which won't be easy to do of course.

No... there were a few people on this site that wanted a top striker even after we signed Mo. I can understand the sentiment as Firmino is not your traditional centre forward. More Dalglish than Rush... and no one had any real confidence in Sturridge or Ings... and Solanke was too young.

I know its not either/ or... but I thought it was going to be diminishing returns strengthening there any further.

It was a centreback or nothing for me... (and a holding midfielder) Klopp has just about managed to blag it.
Id have taken 5th place at this stage if you told me Lovren was still going to be first choice at the start of the season.

We still have Origi and Woodburn.

I think we are ok for now... especially as the defence aint been sorted.

solanke isnt just a plan b big lump, his close control and extra power means he will be a great striker.
with all the little midgets around him he would do a great job as our main striker.
