Without a doubt. I can confirm when I attempt to play football during fasting I have some ridiculous focus. Not much energy granted but I always say that after Ramadan I will play with the same focus, but it never happens. Haha.

They're paid millions as professional sportsman. If any of this fasting stuff has an impact on how he plays it's pretty insane.

Mo's fasting plans for tomorrow confirmed.

Liverpool physiotherapist Ruben Pons has confirmed Mohamed Salah will not fast in the build-up to the Champions League final.

The Egyptian - who has scored 44 goals in his debut season at Anfield – is a devout Muslim and has been abstaining from food and drink during daylight hours since the start of Ramadan on May 16.

Egyptian newspaper Al Masry al Youm claimed that Salah has rejected the idea of breaking the fast.

But Pons, being interviewed by Spanish radio station Cadena SER, claims the 25-year-old will be eating both Friday and Saturday.

"We were in Marbella and the nutritionist established a work plan," he said. "Tomorrow and the day of the match he won't, so it's not going to affect him."

It is permissible for a fasting person to break their fast if they travel during the day - which Salah will be doing.

Sadio Mane and Emre Can are also of the Islamic faith, but it's unknown whether their plans are the same as Salah's.

Has this ever been an issue anywhere else?

I cannot imagine it would, but if it did, at this stage of the season, it would be a shame to go into the biggest game of the season not operating at peak proficiency.

Im sure Salah will be fine though

it's fine, he'll be lighter therefore even quicker.

American Liverpool chairman Tom Werner is optimistic that the team’s Egyptian Winger Mohamed Salah will be staying at Anfield for a long time.

After his return to the Premier League by joining Liverpool, several reports linked Salah to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich after an impressive debut season at Liverpool in which he scored 44 goals across all competitions and collected a number of prestigious awards.

The 25-year-old managed to land the PFA Player of the Year award and the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, as well as winning Liverpool’s Player of the Year award.

All eyes are on Salah and his teammates now after they reached the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in 11 years. They will be facing 12-time winners Real Madrid in the final game in Kiev on Saturday, with the 25-year-old winger hoping to become the only second Arab to lift the title after Algeria’s Rabah Madjer.

“I have to say how privileged I am as a supporter to be able to witness the achievements of Mo this season,” the club chairman said. “He’s one of only three Liverpool players ever to score 40 goals in a season. That in itself is extraordinary.”

Despite interest from European clubs that inquired about him, Salah has revealed before that he is not considering leaving the Merseyside club anytime soon. This was also echoed by his agent Ramy Abbas.

“We’re privileged to be able to enjoy the play of Mo Salah and I believe he’s going to be even better next season,” Werner added.

The club is expected to give Salah an improved contract that can further encourage him to stay at Anfield and dismiss any offers, especially that he is expected to shine with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup in Russia.

“I am confident. I think he’s enjoying his experience at Liverpool.

“Mo loves his team-mates and he feels the love from his supporters. I’m sure whenever they sing their song for him, I’m sure it registers.

“I know he’s very happy at Liverpool so I’m optimistic that he will be playing for us for a long time.”

Used to be a dude at our gym that hammered it during fasting. Said it was the only thing stopped him from thinking about how ****ing hungry he was.

Absolutely ****ing gutted. Could be in danger for the World Cup now as well you'd think.
