Salah has been absolutely fine bar the goals. I genuinely have zero concerns for him and think he will score at least one on the weekend.

I wouldn't agree, he's been wasteful and he's lost a ton of balls due to poor passing or decision making, particularly with his dribbling. His stats are actually what I'm not that concerned with, two goals with a third disallowed, an assist and a penalty won in 6 games is ok, even though he can do way better.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostSalah has been absolutely fine bar the goals. That isn't to say he's not still a genius player capable of destroying opponents on his own, but at the moment it's not really working for him the way it was last season. Whether he needs some rest or more support to achieve that form, that's for Klopp to figure out

There was a stat saying that he lost the ball 21 times against PSG.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostI wouldn't agree, he's been wasteful and he's lost a ton of balls due to poor passing or decision making, particularly with his dribbling. Mane, Salah and Firmino could be frustrating last season too. Lets not revise history and think every attack was perfect and came off. What's so brilliant about them is that they will just keep hammering at the door and are not phased by misses or mistakes.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostI wouldn't agree, he's been wasteful and he's lost a ton of balls due to poor passing or decision making, particularly with his dribbling. I think a lot of the Salah narrative is coming from outside influences that are looking to knock him asap. I think he's been absolutely fine and exactly what I expected early in the season.

I would start him vs Southampton (It's not even a question IMO he is world class), I think if that goal had of been allowed vs PSG.. we may have seen him kick on. He looks low on confidence, over thinking things & looks very frustrated.
His life has gone from 1 to 1000 in the past year, massive pressure, media frenzy & of course the champs league & world cup sagas. I think if Mo had of sat our the world cup... we wouldn't be having this conversation. Political pressure is what had him there ffs when the guy was clearly physically and emotional drained.
A few goals and a bit of magic and he'll be back.

Against Spurs, the defenders were petrified of him and back away from balls they could easily have won because they didn't want to commit. Even against PSG, defenders backed off when he carried the ball from deep, leading to the foul on Gini for the 2nd pen.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostI wouldn't agree, he's been wasteful and he's lost a ton of balls due to poor passing or decision making, particularly with his dribbling. Just having him on the pitch gives us an advantage, even if he doesn't play well himself.
For me PSG is the only bad game he's had this season, but it's just something we aren't used to with him.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Madrid too - the game completely changed when he went off.Originally posted by RedReet View PostAgainst Spurs, the defenders were petrified of him and back away from balls they could easily have won because they didn't want to commit. I think a factor that is coming into play more this season is that he is being marked more tightly and also has players doubling up on him more often. Which makes his job more difficult but is creating a bit more space in the centre and on the other flank for us when it happens.
You can see at times that he is a fraction too early or too late with a pass or shot, but he still keeps getting into the right positions more often than not. Have no doubt that there will be a game soon in which things fall just right for him and with that he will be off on another run of good form.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I agree with that completely, his presence is clearly terrifying to the opponent and it's evident just as much when he isn't playing - Madrid and City when he went off last season. For me it still doesn't change the fact that he's not at his best right now though.Originally posted by RedReet View PostAgainst Spurs, the defenders were petrified of him and back away from balls they could easily have won because they didn't want to commit. He definitely isn't, but his form isn't too dissimilar to how he started last year. If that goal hadn't have been disallowed on Tuesday, he'd have the exact same stats of 3 goals and 1 assist after 6 games as he did last year. In both seasons he should have had more than double that if he'd taken half his chances.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostI agree with that completely, his presence is clearly terrifying to the opponent and it's evident just as much when he isn't playing - Madrid and City when he went off last season. I'm not worried at all about his form and fully expect him to kick on soon, starting at Southampton on Saturday if he starts. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Must be! It's not even among the 3 best goals in football last year, and I would even go so far as to say it's not even Salah's best goalOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post
