There was an interesting interview with him on LFCTVgo (free fortnight ) he was talking about the ManU home game last season.

He knew he had never scored against them, and that he missed the game which was at the time the only points we’d dropped in the season. So he decided to do more press in the week leading up to the game. To talk about it to put MORE pressure on himself.

That’s the elite sports mentality that the likes of us just can’t relate to.

He talked a bit about that mentality post match yesterday - it could have seemed arrogant but he was just saying the truth from his POV. When asked if he felt nerves for that final penalty given it was his second.

He looked incredulous. “I’ve taken a penalty in a Champions League final, and there are no fans today’.

    He’s absolutely amazing

Also, I hadn’t really appreciated that until he signed for us he’d only ever stayed for one season or so at all of his previous clubs.

He is hitting his peak, just turned 28, so if we can get the next 2-3 seasons from him he could go down as our greatest ever player.
    Modifying post.

That list is filthy if true...all for kicking a ball around in training & in matches ( or doing **** all in Bale's situation)
Definitely have to bring in a salary cap & cannot have players earning 10 times or more as much as your teammate!...It's a team sport...no I in TEAM!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It obviously includes endorsements as well. Not just salary. Plus its Forbes so probably overestimated
                    Football without Origi is nothing

You could also add Pogba and Griezmann.

Almost half of them on that list aren't worth it either

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I hate the narrative that the top footballers are earning too much- these are the top earners... take the worlds top 10 in any profession and they’ll be worth mega bucks too!
                              I don't tip
