My head agrees with your cotton wool comment, but my heart was supporting Egypy yesterday. Second of their games I have seen...I am slightly surprised that he is not involved in the games more; he is out wide right, but he is not moving across the pitch at all until he gets to the box; and as a result is not really making dangerous/hard to mark runs. I had thought he's play centre and they'd put a couple playing just behind him to feed him.

I haven't looked at a single minute of it to be honest, tried to watch the AFCON years back and gave up. The standard of the football and officiating was hard to watch.
